Varsity Girls Basketball vs. Monroeville (Sectional Semi-Final)

The varsity girls basketball team used a 23 point third quarter to pull away from Monroeville and record a 63 to 36 victory in sectional tournament action last night. Four players reached double figures and a 5th player added 9 points as the team utilized a balanced attack to advance. The Lady Chargers will now face Ashland Crestview for the sectional championship Saturday night at 6:15 at Lexington. Hope to see you courtside. More +

Varsity Girls Basketball vs. Oak Harbor

The varsity girls basketball team concluded the regular season last night defeating Oak Harbor 34 to 29 on "Senior Night" to improve their record to 17 and 5 overall. Molly Houser paced the balanced attack with 12 points, while Aliyah Caporini, Alana Fidler, and Hannah Vitaz all added 6 points each and Jessica Stoll tallied 4 points. Stoll and Caporini led the assault on the boards with 5 rebounds each, while Vitaz hauled down 4 caroms. The Lady Charger varsity basketball team will open sectional tournament play next Wednesday night vs. Monroeville at Lexington with a 6:15 tip. Hope to see you courtside. More +

The varsity girls basketball team dropped a hard fought contest to Willard 48 to 44 in overtime on Saturday. Hannah Vitaz paced the attack with 14 points and 7 rebounds, while Alana Fidler added 12 points, 4 rebounds, 4 steals and 4 assists. Varsity/JV Girls Basketball vs. Vermilion

The varsity girls basketball team scored a season high 44 points in the first half last night and went on to defeat Vermilion 58 to 19. The team also shot a season high 55 percent from the field and handed out 16 assists. Jessica Stoll paced the attack with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Hannah Vitaz and Lilli Schuster added 10 and 8 points respectively. Molly Houser contributed 6 points and Deana Blatnik, Aliyah Caporini, and Alana Fidler all scored 5 points each. More +

The varsity girls basketball team defeated St. Paul last night 40 to 28 to improve their record to 15 and 4 overall. Aliyah Caporini paced the balanced attack with 12 points, 10 steals, and 5 blocks. Alana Fidler tossed in 11 points and hauled down 6 rebounds, while Mariah Medina contributed 9 points and 7 steals. Hannah Vitaz added 7 points and a game high 12 rebounds. More +

The varsity girls basketball team defeated Port Clinton last Friday 46 to 15. Ten players reached the scoring column and the team used a stifling defense limiting the Redskins to only 4 made field goal attempts. More +

Varsity/JV Girls Basketball vs. Norwalk

The varsity girls basketball team improved their record to 13-4 overall by defeating Norwalk 63 to 33. Four Lady Chargers reached double digits in the balanced scoring attack and they were: Aliyah Caporini 15 points; Mariah Medina and Hannah Vitaz 14 points each; and Alana Fidler with 11 points. Vitaz led the assault on the boards with 8 rebounds, while Medina and Caporini produced 7 and 6 steals respectively. More +

Varsity/JV Girls Basketball vs. Huron

The varsity girls basketball team defeated Huron last Saturday 46 to 27. Alana  Fidler paced the attack with 12 points and 5 rebounds, while Aliyah Caporini added 10 points. Hannah Vitaz chipped in 7 points and 5 rebounds, while Jessica Stoll also hauled down 5 rebounds.

The junior varsity girls defeated Huron 47 to 12. Danielle Blatnik and Jayla Media led the attack with 8 points each, while Leigh Anne Lambert and Olivia Vitaz tossed in 6 points each. Eliza Brickner and Lauren Neher also contributed 5 points each.

The Lady Charger basketball teams are back in action tonight when they host Norwalk at 6:00. Hope to see you courtside.

Freshmen Girls Basketball vs. Lorain

The freshmen girls basketball team came from behind to defeat Lorain last night 37 to 33. Lindsay Roberts paced the attack with 8 points, while Madison Chaput and Lydia Woodyard contributed 6 points each. Eliza Brickner added 5 points and Olivia Vitaz and Leigh Anne Lambert rounded out the scoring with 4 and 2 points respectively. 

The freshmen girls basketball team will host Perkins on Tuesday, February 5th at 5:00. Hope to see you courtside.

The 9th grade girls basketball team lost to Monroeville Tuesday night in a close contest 45 to 39. Leigh Anne Lambert paced the attack with 13 points, while Lindsay Sneider tossed in 12 points. The freshmen girls' basketball team went to the "Purple Pit" last night and came away with a 31 to 26 victory over Fremont Ross. Eliza Brickner, Madison Chaput, and Lydia Woodyard all scored 7 points each, while Lindsay Roberts chipped in 6 points. Lindsay Sneider and Olivia Vitaz rounded out the scoring with 2 points each. The varsity girls basketball team lost to Willard last Friday 45 to 30. Jessica Stoll paced the attack with 9 points, while Alana Fidler and Hannah Vitaz added 7 and 6 points respectively. Vitaz hauled down a team leading 11 rebounds, while Aliyah Caporini snatched 9 caroms, and Fidler grabbed 7 boards. The junior varsity girls lost a nail biter to Willard 39 to 38. Lindsay Roberts led all scorers with 18 points, while Olivia Vitaz chipped in with 8 tallies.
