Morning Announcements - Monday, September 16, 2019

At 4:15 today, girls tennis is at St. Mary’s. At 5:oo, Freshman football is at Firelands. Also at 5:00, Boys JV soccer is home with Huron, Boys varsity soccer is at Huron, at 5:30, JV & varsity volleyball is at Gibsonburg, and at 7:00, girls varsity soccer is at Huron.

This past Saturday the boys and girls cross country teams competed in the Galion Cross Country Festival. The girls placed 7th overall in a field of 18 teams. Leading the way for the Lady Harriers was junior Abby Lesniak with a fourth place finish with freshman Peyton Facemire the next Lady Charger to cross the finish line in 31st place. Rounding out the scoring for the Lady Chargers were Paige Schaefer, Lindsay Sneider and Ava Miller. 
The boys team placed 12th with senior Daniel Lambert leading the way with a sixth place finish. Following Daniel across the finish line were scorers Eli Webb, Dax Austin, Brock Tice and Gabe Tice. This next Saturday the boys and girls teams will be running under the lights in the Centerville Saturday Night Lights Invitational.

The Edison Lady Chargers jv soccer team took home a win against Willard Saturday morning with a 5-0 lead. Scoring for the Chargers was Morgan Moon with two goals.  Jill Kromer  scored on two penalty kicks, and 1 goal. Assists came from Megan Coleman. Shout out to the defenders for a great game, and to Claire Treece for the shut out.  The Chargers play again on September 24th at Norwalk. 

The following students should go to the office: Katelyn Chenevey, Jacob Lombardi, and Marina Moore.

Any student interested in joining Key Club are reminded to pay your $10 dues to the office by Sept. 20.

Last call for Lead 2 Hope T shirt orders.  If you have one - come to the library at this time!

This is a reminder to all student drivers that your car must be registered each year.  You must have a current parking tag hanging from your rear view mirror.  Please complete the appropriate form and purchase your parking tag from the office for $1.00.  The parking lots will be checked starting this week.

Drama Club members interested in serving as STARS (Student Area Thespian Officers who assist in planning the North Area Thespian Conference) and are able to attend the first STARS meeting Saturday, September 21 from 9-11 at Lake Ridge Academy should sign up on the call board by Wednesday, September 18. Mr. Stanforth will be able to provide transportation for four students on a first come, first served basis.  If more than four students wish to attend we will need to discuss alternative transportation arrangements.

The first Spanish Club meeting of the year will be this Wednesday at 7:30 am in the auditorium.  Anyone who is interested in joining should make plans to attend this meeting.

The Firelands Challenge Academic team members are excused at 11:30 today, so that they may eat lunch during 5th period.  The academic team has a practice round at EHOVE and the bus leaves at noon.  Team members should meet at the front door in the cafeteria at noon. 
 
Start Homecoming week with a blast of color! Edison Teen Leadership class is hosting the 1.5 mile color run to kick off Homecoming! Jog, walk, run, or skip with you friends around Edison High school while going through color stations! It’s half the run but twice the fun! The color run will begin at 6pm on October 6th! Thank you to the student body’s ongoing support for the Teen leadership program! 

Attention Students! Play in a Hurry is on September 28th! If you are interested in contributing to this fundraiser please go to the call-board and sign up! We'd love to have anyone and everyone no matter your experience with drama! We need lots of people to make this happen! If you are interested in being part of the group of students who write the script we will be having our first meeting Wednesday September 18 at 5 pm after the Radium Girls auditions! See you there!
