Morning Announcements - Tuesday, September 17, 2019

Happy Birthday to Hailey Giles, Marissa Lisy, Jacob Robinson and Chase O’Dell! 

This morning at 10:00, girls golf will be at SBC Invite at Fremont Central Catholic.
At 3:30, boys golf will be home with Oak Harbor, At 4:15, girls tennis is home with Port Clinton, At 4:30, freshman, JV & varsity volleyball will be at home with Margaretta, and at 5:00, Jv girls soccer is at Huron.

The boys varsity soccer team tied Huron last night 0-0 in a hard fought battle. The boys are back in action on Wednesday at Willard.
 
The varsity volleyball team beat Gibsonburg 25-16, 25-10, 25-10.  Lilli Schuster had 12 kills, Olivia Vitaz had 8 kills and 18 assists, Natalie Lambert had 17 digs, Kira Appemen had 5 kills and Lydia Woodyard added 4 kills.  The team is back in action tonight at home against Margaretta. The JV volleyball team beat Gibsonburg 25-11, 24-26, 25-11.  Lydia Woodyard led the team with 16 service points.
 
The Edison Girls Soccer team lost a hard fought battle to Huron with a final score of 2 to 1. The Lady Chargers will be back in action on Wednesday at Vermilion at 7pm. 
 
The boys JV soccer team were victorious last night in a thriller at Bolt Field against rivals Huron, 1-0. The game winner was scored by Aidan Metz with the assist from Logan Sayler. Solid defense clinched the win from Jake Thompson, August Berckmueller, Ian Maag and Jaden Garn.

The girls tennis team beat St. Mary’s on Monday 5-0. Winning at singles were Jayla Medina, Emily Vogus and Alli Vogus. Winning at doubles were the teams of Kaylee Ries/Torri Keyser and Emily Moore/Lindsey Kowalski. The team is now 11-3.

Any student interested in joining Key Club are reminded to pay your $10 dues to the office by this Friday, Sept. 20.

This is a reminder to all student drivers that your car must be registered each year.  You must have a current parking tag hanging from your rear view mirror.  Please complete the appropriate form and purchase your parking tag from the office for $1.00.  The parking lots will be checked starting this week.

Drama Club members interested in serving as STARS (Student Area Thespian Officers who assist in planning the North Area Thespian Conference) and are able to attend the first STARS meeting Saturday, September 21 from 9-11 at Lake Ridge Academy should sign up on the call board by Wednesday, September 18. Mr. Stanforth will be able to provide transportation for four students on a first come, first served basis.  If more than four students wish to attend we will need to discuss alternative transportation arrangements.

The first Spanish Club meeting of the year will be tomorrow morning, Wednesday September 18,  at 7:30 am in the auditorium.  Anyone who is interested in joining Spanish Club should make plans to attend this meeting. You do not need to be in spanish class to be in this club!
 
Start Homecoming week with a blast of color! Edison Teen Leadership class is hosting the 1.5 mile color run to kick off Homecoming! Jog, walk, run, or skip with you friends around Edison High school while going through color stations! It’s half the run but twice the fun! The color run will begin at 6pm on October 6th! Thank you to the student body’s ongoing support for the Teen leadership program! 

Attention Students! Play in a Hurry is on September 28th! If you are interested in contributing to this fundraiser please go to the call-board and sign up! We'd love to have anyone and everyone no matter your experience with drama! We need lots of people to make this happen! If you are interested in being part of the group of students who write the script we will be having our first meeting tomorrow, Wednesday September 18 at 5 pm after the Radium Girls auditions! Hope to see you there!

Congratulations to this year's Speech and Debate Club Officers! President - Katie Otto, Vice President - Connor Betts, Debate Captain- Jamie Anderson, Secretary - Vinnie Strong, Treasurer - Sean Rhodes and Historian- Travin Baughman. 
 
Attention policy debaters:  Mr. Amstutz will go over affirmative cases and negative strategies on Wednesday and Thursday this week in the Conference Room from 3-4:15p.m. each day.  Please try to attend one or both of these crucial meetings!
 
All Juniors and Seniors who received invites to National Honor Society last week - our informational meeting is TODAY afterschool in Mrs. Facemire's room.  If you can not attend you must see Mrs. Facemire before the meeting.  If you are unsure  if you qualify for National Honor Society, please see Mrs. Facemire.

Anyone interested in being on the bowling teams this year should stop into the athletic office and sign up this week.  There will be a very short informational meeting in the auditorium on Friday at 2:50 pm for anyone interested.
 
The following students need to report to the Auditorium immediately to see Mr. Jeffrey: Aidan Anderson, Remington Bauer, Luke Bissell, Kristian Brown, Maddie Drake, Ava Grant, Conrad Kluding, Jill Kromer, Natalie Lambert, Abby Lesniak, Kayla Mancuso, Patrick McManus, Emily Moore, Andrew Neate, Dylan O’Dell, Noah Pulaski, Lindsay Roberts, Paige Schaefer, Nathan Spence and Thomas Simon. Those students should report to the auditorium at this time.
