Morning Announcements - Tuesday, February 5, 2019

Jostens is meeting with freshmen today at 2:25 in the auditorium.  

Senior photos for this year's yearbook are due by February 22.  Though a digital photo file is preferred, you can also drop off a wallet sized print photo.  Senior quotes are also due by the 22nd.

Congratulations to the Firelands Challenge Team for placing first in the regular season out of the 18 area schools which participate in the competition. Edison earned first place with 340 cumulative points, and Huron placed second with 272 points.   Edison and Huron will automatically advance to the three championship rounds. Margaretta, Norwalk, and Perkins placed third, fourth, and fifth, respectively.  These three schools will have a play-off round to determine which school will compete against first place Edison and second place Huron. Congratulations to Firelands Challenge co-captains Isabel Chasney and Morgan Otto and to team members Piper Nickoli, Sean Rhodes, Andrew Kibler, Nathan Spence, and Brenna Chasney for an extremely impressive first place victory in the regular season!

Book Club will meet after school Wed, Feb. 6, in Mrs. Wobser's room to decide on our next book and to watch The Hate You Give.  All are welcome! Hope to see you there!  

All Senior National Honor Society members - our next meeting will be today right after school in Miss Cull's room.  Please bring ideas for our Do RIGHT week. See Miss Cull if you can not make it.

The Math Lab is open everyday in room 402 during the lunch periods 5,6, and 7.

Students wishing to take the Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics test need to pay the $5.00 registration fee to Mrs. Wallrabenstein by this Wednesday, Feb. 6.  The test is on Feb. 23.

Speech and Debate members, be sure to sign up for the National Qualifiers tournament this week if you are able to go. If you aren't competing at any future tournaments, please turn in your speech materials or binders. Ms. Baughman will be here after school for practices. 

Attention all Interact members, our next meeting will be on Wednesday February 20th.  We are still in  need of students helping with backpack for the rest of February.  If you are able to help out, stop by the library and sign up.  

Time to buy your friend or that special person a flower for Valentine’s Day!  You can purchase a carnation for $1 during lunch modules all this week and Monday.  Flowers will be delivered to homerooms on Valentine's Day.  Thank you for your support! 

A reminder that Chess Club will meet tomorrow after school in Mr. Newton’s room.  Every skill level is invited, not sure how to play...stop by!  

There will be a baseball meeting in Coach Hoover's room Thursday after school.  Anyone planning on playing baseball this spring should plan on attending this meeting
