Morning Announcements - Tuesday, May 7, 2019

Happy Birthday to Allison Pennell, Kylee Cook, Megan Morley and Miranda Morley!

Today at 4:00, boys and girls track will compete at Gibsonburg in the SBC track meet.
At 4:45, tennis will be at home with Willard. At 4:45, Jv blue will be at Sandusky and the varsity softball team will be at home vs. New London in the first game of sectionals at 5:00.

The boys tennis team beat Cloverleaf on Monday 4-1. Winning at singles were Lincoln Meredith and Nate Spence. Winning at doubles were the teams of Kaleb Yoder/Carter Kramer and Adam Frederick/Jacob Lombardi. The team is now 12-3.

The Lady Chargers lost to Oak Harbor yesterday 5-2. Grace Houser and Jessica Stoll each had base hits while Deana Blatnik added a double and an RBI. The Girls host New London today in the first game of Sectionals

In varsity baseball action last night, Chase O'Dell roped a 2 out single down the right field line in the bottom of the 7th inning to score Thomas Simon and give the Chargers a 2-1 walk off win over Oak Harbor.  Caleb Bissell had 2 hits and Justin Hosley singled.  Simon got the win, pitching a complete game with 10 strikeouts.

The JV Orange team beat Oak Harbor 12-2.  Remington Bauer had 3 hits and 4 RBI's.  Logan Bowen added two hits and an RBI.  Bryce Michaelis was the winning pitcher.

Four hits from Perkins helped lead the way for Edison Chargers JV softball over Oak Harbor 14-2 on Monday. The ladies big bats were led by Vitaz, Perkins, and Roberts, all driving in runs in the frame. Roberts earned the victory on the rubber for the Chargers. Edison had 17 hits in the game. Perkins, Vitaz, Lambert, Roberts, and Johnson all managed multiple hits for Edison Chargers.

Immediately following the morning announcements, all members of the History Club should report to Mr. Murray’s room for a group picture. 

Attention Students: Petitions are now available in the high school office for students wishing to run for a class office position or student council.

Attention seniors attending prom! If you are interested in running for prom king or queen, please see Mr. Newton to be on the ballot. Deadline will be Friday May 10!

Book Club will meet at 7:15 this Thursday, May 9th to discuss up through page 125 in Where the Crawdads Sing in Mrs. Wobser's room.  Breakfast treats will be provided:)

Attention Seniors:  The annual Senior Walk will be Friday, May 24.  Please bring your cap and gown as the class will be traveling to the middle school and elementary to visit with your former teachers and to remind the younger students of the ultimate goal of graduating from high school. Seniors will be dismissed 8th and 9th periods to travel by bus to the other buildings.  EHOVE seniors are encouraged to attend as well, plan to meet at the high school at 1:00.

Attention Students: Anyone interested in running for a class office position or student council may pick up an information sheet from the high school office.  Candidates for office must meet the criteria listed on the information sheet.  Student speeches and elections will be held on Thursday, May 16th.

Student athletes are asked to schedule your sports physicals for Tuesday May 21st between 5 - 6:00.  See Mrs. Miller to schedule a time prior to the 21st.  There is a $15 fee to be paid at the time of your physical.  Physical packs can be picked up in the athletic office.  

Attention boys and girls track team members: There will be a pasta dinner with all the fixings for all members of the track team after practice this Wednesday, May 8th.  Dinner will be served in the cafeteria.  

All Do RIGHT tickets should be turned in no later than May 8 to  Mrs. Wilson!  Please turn them in today! 

Interact will meet tomorrow morning at 7:35 before school.  Hoping everyone will be able to make it.  There are still volunteer opportunities yet to finish off our season.  We will also be discussing elections for next school year.  

The last National Honor Society meeting of the year will be today right after school in Miss Cull's room.  All Junior members must attend.  Please see Miss Cull before the meeting if you can not make it

Any girl interested in playing girls soccer next year is invited to a Player/Parent meeting on Thursday May 9th at 7pm in the High School cafeteria.

Art Club will meet on Thursday instead of Wednesday this week in the Art Room.

The library is closed all day today.

Mrs. Brown is also out of the building today.
