Happy Birthday to Bertha Saucedo!

Today at 4:45, Jv orange and Jv softball is home with Margaretta, and at 4:45, varsity baseball & varsity softball will be at Margaretta.

Tonight at 7:00, show choir will present “The Greatest Showman” in the auditorium.  Please come to this free presentation!

Congratulations to the following girls that placed at the District meet. Paige Schafer took 8th in the 800m run. Abby Lesnaik placed 2nd in the 3200m Run. Isabel Chasney was 3rd in the 1600m Run. Aliyah Caporini was 5th in the 100m and 4th in the 300m Hurdles. The 4x200 relay placed 8th Woodyard, Caporini, Smith, Jeremay. The 4x800 placed 3rd Houser, Schafer, Lesniak. Chasney. Katie Jeremay was 6th in the Pole Vault. Annabella Klima was 8th in the Shot. Way to go Ladies.

The boys track team finished 5th out of 17 teams at the District meet Friday night.  Moving on to the regionals are: the 4X800 relay, Dan Lambert in the 1600, Ty Coon in the 3200, Dylan O’Dell in the high jump, Morgan Otto finished 6th in the 110 hurdles, the 4X200 team finished 5th. The 4X100 team finished 6th, Caleb Bell finished 6th in the 400, Jon Hrivnak finished 5th in the 800, Connor Romell finished 7th in the 200.  Congratulations guys!

The varsity baseball team won its 11th straight sectional championship by beating Bucyrus 10-0 on Saturday.  Caden Cooper pitched a complete game 2 hitter with 10 strikeouts and also led the offense with 3 hits and 2 RBI's.  Jadon Hanson, Caleb Bissell, and Luke Bissell had 2 hits each. Caleb Bissell had 3 RBI's, while Cooper McIntyre and Justin Hosley each had 2 RBI's.  The team will play in the district semi-finals at Shelby High School on Thursday at 5:00.

Students that qualified for the Edison Works Lunch are encouraged to bring outdoor games for Wednesday. Students that qualified for the Edison Works Lunch received an invitation in homeroom.  Anyone that did not receive an invitation but think they qualified should see Mr. Hall or Mr. Goodwin.

Students interested in trying out for the 2019 - 2020 Firelands Challenge Academic team should make arrangements with Mrs. Wallrabenstein to take the test today and/or tomorrow during study hall and/or after school.

The Spanish and French Clubs are hosting a dance party on Wednesday after school in the auditorium. A dance instructor will be teaching the Tango and Salsa. All are welcome!

The Melon Festival Queen’s contest is for high school girls entering their senior year at Edison High School! It is a scholarship program where the queen and her court have the opportunity to travel around Ohio and represent our town and the Melon Festival! Any junior girl who is interested in running please meet in the auditorium after school on Thursday, May 23. Queen coordinator, Mandi Richards, and current/past Melon Festival queens will be here to talk about the program. Hope to see you there!

There will be a mandatory meeting for anyone interested in cheerleading next year tonight at 5:30 pm in the high school cafeteria.  One parent must be in attendance.  Any issues with attending this meeting, please contact the athletic office.

Student athletes are reminded to schedule your sports physicals for this Tuesday May 21st between 5 - 6:00.  See Mrs. Miller to schedule a time prior to the 21st.  There is a $15 fee to be paid at the time of your physical.  Physical packs can be picked up in the athletic office.  

Mr. Stanforth is still in need of volunteers to help with the shed completion and the Milan Community Garden.  Please sign up on the call board if you are able to help.  Also, we are still collecting donations for the non-food bank.  

All library books are due by this Friday!

Interact is in need of volunteers on Monday May 27th - after the Milan Memorial Day parade.  Please see Mrs. Moyer if you are able to help out!  This is a huge community project and need the workers!   A reminder to those students gardening today after school, Mr G will be here around 3:10 to meet with you in the cafeteria.

Any junior or senior girl interested in participating in the 2019 Basket Festival Queen’s Contest please contact Halle Patton.  This is an amazing opportunity to represent your community while gaining new friendships and a scholarship!

Immediately following the announcements, all Interact members and Key Club members should report to Mr. Murray’s room for a group yearbook picture.
