I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. I realize that the start of school is still a few weeks away, but plans are already being made at Edison Elementary for the 2019-2020 school year. We are very excited about the new school year and the opportunity to welcome you and your child(ren) to Edison Elementary School. To help you plan for your child’s upcoming year, an orientation meeting has been scheduled for Monday, August 19 between 8:15 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.
The orientation will consist of a brief meeting in the gymnasium with Mr. Hermes to review building policies, and a presentation by the homeroom teacher in each classroom to discuss grade level expectations. Students are encouraged to bring their supplies to the orientation and take them to their homerooms. Please report to the gymnasium at the following times:
Preschool 8:15 am
Kindergarten: 9:00 am
1st grade: 9:45 am
2nd grade: 10:30 am
3rd grade: 11:15 am
If you have more than one child in the building, you only need to attend one meeting in the gymnasium. However, it would be greatly appreciated if you could attend each of your child’s grade level meetings to hear expectations from the homeroom teacher. That meeting will take place approximately 20 minutes after the scheduled start time for the grade level meeting in the gym.
During the orientation, the transportation department will also be available to answer any questions you may have regarding bussing for the 2019-20 school year. In the past, many parents have chosen to pay the student supply fees at this meeting. The cost of supply fees this year is $30.00 per student. This will be one less concern on the first day of school.
