The Edison Middle School Power of the Pen teams competed in the Regional Tournament at Lourdes University on March 13, 2019.  The 7th-grade team finished in first place and were named Regional Champions.  Earning individual honors were Lillian Kreglow, 11th place, Noah Proctor 5th place, and Taryn Hahn 1st place and Seventh Grade Regional Champion.  Eighth-grader Marina Moore also earned individual honors placing 7th overall.  In addition, Zachary Main was honored for his story written at the district level.  Zachary’s story was named Best of the Round and Best of the Best.  His story will be published in the Power of the Pen book of winners.

The EMS Power of the Pen team also captured the Sweepstakes Trophy for the Northwest Region.  The Sweepstakes Trophy is awarded to the school with the highest combined point totals for 7th and 8th grade at District and Regional competition.  

In addition to Power of the Pen, the EMS teams competed in the Timberstone Writing Tournament at Timberstone Middle School in Sylvania.  The 7th-grade team finished in 2nd place with individual honors going to  Lillian Kreglow (11th), Andrew Gray (5th), and Sara Gates (3rd).  The eighth-grade team finished in 4th place.  Marina Moore placed 10th and Morgan Moon placed 3rd.
