Morning Announcements - Wednesday, April 10, 2019

At 4:45 tonight, JV orange & JV softball will be at Margaretta. Also at 4:45, varsity baseball & varsity softball will be at home with Margaretta, and at 7:00, Interact will meet in the library.

The boys tennis team beat Huron on Tuesday 4-1. Winning at singles were Lincoln Meredith and Nathan Spence. Winning at doubles were the teams of Carter Kramer/Kaleb Yoder and Adam Frederick/Jacob Lombardi. The team is now 6-2 overall and 4-0 in the conference. Winning for the JV team was the doubles team of August and Otto Berckmueller.

The JV Blue team played well for 5 innings but eventually fell to Hopewell-Loudon 14-4.  Brady Barker and Hayden Fox pitched well, while Ethan Gessling and Matthew Pounds each hit sacrifice flies for RBI's to lead the offense. The team plays again on Thursday at home.  We hope to see you there.

The girls track team lost to Huron 63-69. Finishing in first place for the girls team was Tori Keyser in the high jump, Annabella Klima in the shot put, Marissa Lisy in the disc, Jaime Teed in the 400 and Abby Lesniak in the mile the two mile and she teamed up with Paige Schafer, Brenna Chasney, and Rachel Klepper to win the 4x400 relay. The girls compete again this Saturday at the Edison Invite.

The boys track team lost to Huron last night 75-62.  First place finishers for the chargers were: Dylan O’Dell in the high jump, Jon Hrivnak in 1600 and the 3200, Caleb Bell in the 400, Joe Stoll in the 200 and the 4X100 relay of Connor Romell, Ian Janssen, Justin Daniel and Joe Stoll.  Way to go guys! 

Edison Chargers JV Softball team out-hits competition, yet Hopewell-Loudon takes the win. Mancuso went six innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits and striking out three with a final score of 7-5. Edison Chargers JV racked up eight hits in the game. Perkins and Roberts each collected two hits to lead the JV ladies.

Anyone interested in trying out for the 2019 - 2010 Firelands Challenge Academic Team should sign up in Mrs. Wallrabenstein's room.

Attention Math Club members:  Please pay dues as soon as possible.

The registration deadline for the June 8th ACT is May 3rd. Any students interested must go to actstudent.org.

There will be an information meeting tonight at 6pm in room 503 for anyone interested in participating in the French exchange program next year - hosting and/or traveling. Come and ask questions, bring ideas and get information.  See you there!
Are you looking for summer work close to home with the possibility of bonuses at the end of the summer? Schlessman Seed Company in Milan is looking for high school students with great work ethics to work for them this summer.  A representative from Schlessman Seed will be here on Tuesday April 16th at 7:45 am to meet with interested students and provide basic information about what the summer job will entail and answer any questions.

The Edison Writing Center is open during all lunch periods today.  If you need help with a writing assignment, bring your lunch and your essay to Room 201 today. 5th period tutors are: Hannah & Miranda, 6th period tutors are: Grace & Sydney and 7th period tutors: Holly & Megan. 

Attention all juniors and seniors! Prom will be on May 11th this year at the Colonnade from 8-11PM. Tickets will be on sale from April 8 - April 26. Each ticket will be $30 and can be purchased during your lunch or after school. If planning on bringing a guest from a different school, you and your date will need to fill out a form. If you have questions, please see Mr. Newton!

Attention Speech and Debate Team, the awards banquet will be on Monday, April 15th at 6:30 PM. Please plan on attending!

It’s that time to nominate what teacher has impacted your life the most.  The Milan Rotary Club each year sponsors the Golden Apple award to staff in the elementary, middle and high school.  You can nominate a teacher at any level.  Stop by the library and fill out a form as to why you think this teacher deserves the Golden Apple award.  

All Speech and Debate members are reminded to pay their $10 to Lexi Weyer ASAP.  If you’ve already paid see her to sign the card! 

Attention all EHS students: this is your last chance to buy a 2018 - 2019 yearbook.  Yearbooks are $60 each without customization.  Please ask the yearbook staff or Mr. Murray for an order form.  Please turn your order forms into Mr. Murray ASAP.
