Morning Announcements - Monday, January 6, 2020

Happy Birthday to Madi Drake, Brody Yost, Evelyn Gall, Skylie Hixon and Aiden Anderson.

Tonight at 5:30, JV & varsity girls basketball will be at Firelands.

The Speech and Debate team competed at Toledo Whitmer over break. Congratulations to the following students who placed: Will Duniver and August Berckmueller took 6th in Duo; Lorain Clawson and Sean Rhodes, were both 5th place in their Congressional houses, and Allyson Gardner placed 2nd in Lincoln Douglas. Miss Baughman will be here after school today for practices. Be sure to sign up for the Berea-Midpark tournament today!

Congratulations Lady Charger bowlers, it was a very good weekend for the ladies as they won the Sandusky Bay Conference Tournament for the 2nd straight year! Leading the way for the Chargers was Natalie Costello finishing in 1st place in the Bay Division with a very nice 553 series! The boys also bowled well finishing in 2nd place, missing 1st by just over 30 pins! Leading the Boys finishing in 2nd place was Brandon Goodrich with a very nice 656!

This past weekend the Boys basketball teams hosted the Port Clinton Redskins.  The JV boys were able to use good defense and balanced scoring to defeat the Redskins 35-24.  Clay Byington lead all scores with 13 while Brady Barker had 10.  This improved the JV record to 5-3.  The Chargers have a double weekend ahead on the road against Huron and Vermilion.  Go Chargers!

The boys varsity basketball dropped three games over winter break to Norwalk St. Paul, Willard, and Port Clinton. The boys were led this past Saturday by Grant Ott, who chipped in 11 points, and Dylan O'Dell, who contributed 7 points against PC. The boys are going to work to shake off their winter break shooting woes, and bounce back this Friday at our SBC rival Huron. 

Attention school bus riders:  Bus 19 will continue to run Bus 12's route and bus #6 will now run Bus 13's route.

Students who qualified for Thursday's Edison WORKS Breakfast will receive an invitation in their homeroom either today or tomorrow. Qualified students should report to the cafeteria Thursday after morning announcements for breakfast.  Thursday's first period study hall should go to the auditorium.  If any student thinks he/she should have received an invitation please see Mr. Hall or Mr. Goodwin.

All senior members of National Honor Society - don't forget our monthly meeting will be TOMORROW Tuesday Jan 7 right afterschool in Mrs. Facemire's room.  Attentional all current and potential National Honor Society members - your service hours are due by the end of the day on Friday - no exceptions.

All students on light or sound for the winter one acts - you MUST see Mrs. Facemire TODAY to plan for the performances which are this weekend.

Attention Math Club Members:  The $5.00 dues must be paid by Friday, Jan. 10 if you want your name included on the back of the Math Club T-Shirt.  Long sleeve T-Shirts will cost $10 and short-sleeved T-shirts will cost $8. You may place your T-shirt order with Mrs. Wallrabenstein.

This Friday and Saturday the Edison Drama Club will present two one act plays: This is Your Brain on Social Media presented by students from the middle school, and Law and Order; Fairy Tale Unit, directed by Leo Schnellinger and presented by the Edison Drama Club.  Tickets are $5 for students and senior citizens and $6 for adults.  All tickets will be sold at the door and all seating is general admission.

Drama Students interested is seeing Every Brilliant Thing next Tuesday at Lake Ridge Academy, must turn in their permission slips by tomorrow. We will leave Edison at 8:50 for a 10:00 performance, make a stop for fast food after the show, and return to Edison no later than 2:00.  Permission slips and information is available on the call board.

Attention Drama Club students, information about, and permission slips for, the State Thespian Conference are available on the call board. Students interested in participating in Individual Events or applying for scholarships should start planning now.

Aloha, Ukulele Club will be every Thursday after school starting 2nd semester!  If you don't have a Ukulele, we will have extras.  Mahalo.
