Morning Announcement for Friday, February 21

Today’s Trivia Question is: Which movie was incorrectly announced as the winner of Best Picture at the 2017 Academy Awards?

The lunch menu for today is Chef’s Choice Main Entree or salad bar or chef’s choice grab and go, romaine salad, fresh veggies, fresh fruit and milk.

Attention All 7th Graders: the deadline for handing in your permission slip and/or chaperone slip is today February 21.  You may give them to Mrs. Bishop or Mrs. Vajda. If you forgot please bring it in on Monday.  We need to know if you are planning on attending the trip or not.

Choir solo auditions will be held next Thursday, February 27 after rehearsal. Please see Mrs. Rosekelly to sign up for a time.

Band-O-Rama is this tomorrow, February 22nd at 7:00 pm in the high school gym. Band members should report to the HS auditorium by 6:30 to warm-up and tune.

Memories!  Oh, those school yearbook memories!  The yearbook will have 48 pages of pictures that will include the Washington, DC trip, Turkey Trot, Awesomeness Day and many more.  The cost of a yearbook is only $15.  You may order online at ybpay.lifetouch.com or return your envelope to your homeroom teacher or give it to Mrs. Bishop.  The deadline is March 2 for placing your order.

Any 7th or 8th grade boy or girl planning to join the track teams this spring needs to sign up on the sheets outside of Coach Vajda’s room.  Be sure to include your afternoon bus number on the signup sheet.  When you sign up, it is important that you take a practice schedule from the folder next to the signup sheets.  Make sure you give that schedule to your parents.  If you are planning to join, but have not had a physical yet this school year, please see Coach Vajda or Mrs. Bishop for the forms.  Lastly, if you are interested in pole vault as an event this year, please put a star next to your name when you sign up.

The answer for today’s trivia question is that it was announced  incorrectly that the winner of Best Picture at the Academy Awards in 2017 was La La Land.

We would like to close with this quote from John F. Kennedy: “The American, by nature, is optimistic.  He is experimental, an inventor and a builder who builds best when called upon to build greatly.”
