Morning Announcements - Thursday, January 14, 2021

Happy Birthday to Chloe Shepherd, Natalie Lambert, Dalton Rahrig, Mikayla Myers & Logan Sayler! 
 
The Charger Wrestling team defeated Oak Harbor last night in the State Dual District Semifinal by a score of 48-26.  The Chargers were missing three starters from the lineup but found a way to come out on top.  Winning last night was Max Hermes, Marcus Medina, Kohen Horvath, Casey Barnett, Shad Slone, Logan Lloyd, Clint Finnen, Jacob Thompson, and Jackson Berardi.  The Chargers now advance to the State Dual Final 8 which will be held on February 6 at Versailles High School.  
 
Fun Fact of the day...A crocodile can't poke its tongue out. Because their tongues are attached to the roof of their mouths, crocodiles can not stick their tongues out – although their very similar counterparts,  - alligators, can.

A reminder that there is no school tomorrow OR Monday. 
 
There will be a Spanish Honor Society meeting on Tuesday, January 19th at 7:30am in the library. All members and candidates must pay the seven dollars for the National Spanish Exam by Friday, January 22nd.
 
If you’re not busy today after school, make plans to meet in Mr. Newton’s room to play chess! Everyone welcome no matter what your level of play is - even if you just want to learn to play! See Mr Newton for more information! Meet in room 405 after school today!
 
The Speech & Debate team, Miss Baughman will be available for speech practices all week, and Mr. Amstutz will be here for debate today. If you’re competing in a live event for Berea Midpark be at the high school by 8 am on Saturday morning. The Laurel signup will close Sunday evening so sign up asap. 
 
All Senior and Potential members of National Honor Society - your service hours are due to Mrs. Facemire TODAY!  No late hours will be accepted.  
 
Drama rehearsal will meet today from 3-5:00.  
 
If any student is interested in participating in this year's Thespys competition please contact Mr. Stanforth ASAP. This is an individual events competition sponsored by the international thespian society. There are 15 categories you may participate in including aspects of technical theatre and performance.
 
French Club and French Honor Society members - there will be a meeting after school Wednesday January 20 in the cafeteria outside Madame's room.   This will be a short meeting, but your input is needed.  See you there!
