Morning Announcements - Thursday, September 5, 2019

Today at 4:00, girls golf is at St. Mary’s. At 4:15, girls tennis is at Oak Harbor. At 4:30, boys JV soccer is home with Oak Harbor, at 5:00, JV and varsity volleyball is at home with Willard, and at 6:00, girls JV soccer will be at home with Oak Harbor.

The girls tennis team beat Perkins on Wednesday 3-2. Winning at singles were Emily Vogus and Alli Vogus. Winning at doubles was the team of Emily Moore and Lindsey Kowalski. Winning for the JV team was Lili Grant/Emma Horchler. The team travels to Oak Harbor later today.

The boys varsity soccer team put in a great night at Port Clinton last night with a 8-0 win. Goal scorers were Ian Janssen with 4, Miguel Echevarria with 2, Anferney DeLeon, and Sam Lopez.

The Edison Varsity Girls Soccer team got a big conference road win last night against Port Clinton winning 2-0. Getting their first Varsity goals of the season were Livia Lowery and Ruby Knowles. Those goals came from great team play and was assisted by Autumn Canterbury. The Defense put up a solid performance getting their first shutout of the season and was led by team captains Katie Nealey and Emma Houser. Also part of that excellent performance was Katelyn Chenevey, Alleigh Shreve , and Elizabeth Pruitt. The Lady Chargers are back in action on Saturday with a home game against Crestview at 12:45pm. 

The girls golf team secured another win last night on the road at Loudon Meadows against Hopewell which brings their record to 8-1. Edison 187- Hopewell 209. Jordan Pruitt shot a 1 over par 37 to take overall medalist followed by Lauren Neher 44, Hunter Barylski 50, Ava Grant 56. The team will be back on the road tonight at Plumbrook to tee it up against St. Mary’s Central Catholic. Good Luck Ladies and Keep Believing and Recharging!!!

A reminder to all juniors and sophomores that have previously signed up  to take the Pre-ACT test this morning - you should already be in the cafeteria.  Testing begins promptly at 8am! Remember to bring your calculator with you! 

Students are reminded all first day completed forms are due tomorrow.  If you have them with you, please turn them in to your homeroom teacher.  

Picture Day is coming soon to EHS!  Next Wednesday, September 11th be sure to dress your best and put on your greatest smile!  Please remember to turn in your picture order form to the photographer or you can pre-order at mylifetouch.com, using your Picture Day ID EVT4W7X2B.

The Firelands Challenge Academic team will have practice on today from 5:00 - 6:00.

All student drivers must register their vehicles in order to drive to school.  The cost is $1 and a new tag must be purchased each year.  Vehicle registration applications are in the office.  

We will be offering the ASVAB Military Placement Test on Tuesday, October 2nd at 8:00am. If you are interestested in being in the military this is a test you will need to take.  See Ms. Spademan or sign up at the Counselor's bulletin board by  Thursday, September 26th, 2019

Attention Juniors and seniors: BGSU Firelands College is hosting college night on Tuesday September 10th from 6-7:30! They will be bringing over 70 college reps for you to speak with.  Grab your parents or friends and make plans to be at BGSU on Tuesday September 10th!

The Math Lab is open everyday during 5th, 6th, and 7th periods. Students who would like to volunteer to tutor other students in the Math Lab should pick up an application form from Mrs. Wallrabenstein as soon as possible.

The first meeting of the year for seniors in National Honor Society will be next Tuesday September 10, right afterschool in Mrs. Facemire's room. If you can not attend you need to see Mrs. Facemire before the meeting.

Junior and seniors are reminded if they are interested in doing ACT bootcamp to get your registration and money to the office by September 16th. For more information check your school email!

Students interested in Speech and Debate - The first meeting will be after school TODAY in the auditorium. Ms. Baughman and Mr. Amstutz will be going over events, officer nominations, and other important information. New and former competitors are invited to attend!

Attention anyone interested in playing boys basketball this year. There will be a brief meeting in the auditorium at 7:40 tomorrow morning. We will discuss the fall workout schedule and expectations. Anyone unable to attend should see Coach Hammond by the end of the week.
