Boys and Girls Cross Country - Seneca East Invitational
The Charger boys and girls cross country teams got off to a great start this past weekend at the Seneca East Tiger Invitational with the boys placing third out of 18 teams and the girls fourth of 16 teams. Scoring for the boys were Dan Lambert and Tyler Coon in first and second place respectively followed by Aidan Anderson, Will Duniver and newcomer Eli Webb. The girls were led by individual champion Abby Lesniak followed by freshman Peyton Facemire, Paige Schaefer, Lindsay Sneider and Katie Jeremay. Individually it was quite a day for Daniel Lambert, Tyler Coon and Abby Lesniak. In the 45 year history of Edison Boys Cross Country no individual had ever run under 16 minutes for the 5K run until Saturday when both Dan and Ty both dipped under the 16 minute mark. Dan ran a time of 15:57 and right behind him was Ty with a time of 15:59. Daniel’s time earned him the senior and school records. Abby won her second straight individual Tiger Invitational title with a time of 19:03 which gives her the junior record to go along with her sophomore and freshman records. Taking this weekend off the Charger runners will be back in action September 7th at the Tiffin Cross Country Carnival.
