Morning Announcements - Friday, April 12, 2019
Happy Birthday to Will Grant & Nick Schilling!

At 4:45 today, JV blue will be at Buckeye Central, JV orange will be at home with Huron
JV softball will be at home with Plymouth, and varsity softball will be at Sandusky.
On Saturday morning Edison will host the Boys and girls Edison Invite.  Prelims will begin at 10:00. At 10:00, JV softball will have a doubleheader at home with Gibsonburg
Varsity softball will have a doubleheader at Gibsonburg, and at 11:00, JV blue will be at Bellevue.

Eight RBI Day for Mallory Perkins brings victory for Edison JV Lady Chargers with a final score of 14-3 over Willard. Perkins drove in runs on a grand slam in the second. The Chargers notched four runs in the sixth inning. Lambert, Vitaz, and Perkins all contributed in the big inning with RBIs. Roberts led the JV team to victory in the circle. Krul, Vitaz, Perkins, and Blatnik each managed multiple hits for Edison Chargers JV. Krul led the Chargers with three hits in four at bats.

The boys tennis team beat Oak Harbor on Thursday 3-2. Winning at no. 1 singles in three sets to decide the match was Lincoln Meredith. Winning at doubles were the teams of Carter Kramer/Kaleb Yoder and Adam Frederick/Jacob Lombardi. The team is now 7-2 overall and 5-0 in the conference. Winning for the JV team were the doubles teams of August/Otto Berckmueller and Sam Lopez/Kris Maschari. 

The varsity baseball team improved to 7-3 with a 7 to 1 win against Willard.  Jacob Thompson pitched a complete game 3 hitter with 11 strikeouts to get the win.  Jadon Hanson had 3 hit. Justin Hosley had 2 hits, including a double, and Caleb Bissell had 3 RBI's.

The JV Blue team beat Lorain 12-8.  Matthew Pounds had 2 hits.  Bryce Michaelis, Ethan Gessling, and Brady Barker each had 1 hit.

The Lady Chargers defeated Willard 6-5 in a late inning comeback win. Kira Appeman earned the win by only allowing one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out six and walking zero. Edison Girls scattered 15 hits in the game. Medina, Fortuna, Morgan Scott, Jessica Stoll, and Appeman all managed multiple hits for Lady Chargers Varsity. Fortuna and Medina each tallied four hits and multiple rbis. The Ladies take on Sandusky today in Sandusky.

Attention Thespians, it is time to select next year's Drama Council.  You should have received a ballot through your student Email. Voting must be completed by noon today. If you  have not received a ballot, please email Mr. Stanforth.

Are you looking for summer work close to home with the possibility of bonuses at the end of the summer? Schlessman Seed Company in Milan is looking for high school students with great work ethics to work for them this summer. A representative from Schlessman Seed will be here on Tuesday April 16th at 7:45 am to meet with interested students and provide basic information about what the summer job will entail and answer any questions.

Attention all juniors and seniors! Prom will be on May 11th this year at the Colonnade from 8-11PM. Tickets will be on sale from April 8 - April 26. Each ticket will be $30 and can be purchased during your lunch or after school. If planning on bringing a guest from a different school, you and your date will need to fill out a form. If you have questions, please see Mr. Newton!

New Thespians are reminded to turn in their membership forms today.

Attention Speech and Debate Team, the awards banquet will be this Monday, April 15th at 6:30 PM. Please plan on attending!

It’s that time to nominate what teacher has impacted your life the most.  The Milan Rotary Club each year sponsors the Golden Apple award to staff in the elementary, middle and high school.  You can nominate a teacher at any level.  Stop by the library and fill out a form as to why you think this teacher deserves the Golden Apple award.  

Attention all EHS students: this is your last chance to buy a 2018 - 2019 yearbook.  Yearbooks are $60 each without customization.  Please ask the yearbook staff or Mr. Murray for an order form.  Please turn your order forms into Mr. Murray ASAP.

Attention Sophomores! The Sophomore class officers are looking for anyone interested in volunteering their time, to help sell raffle tickets this Saturday, April 13th, during the Edison Invite Track meet. We will be raffling off several high price items including, Kalahari water park passes, Sidelines gift cards, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame tickets, and a gift certificate to Shirt Shack. The proceeds from this fundraiser will be going towards next year's prom and benefits for the sophomore class.There is a sign up sheet in Mr. Collins Room, 203. Please consider helping out!

Speech and Debate Club Officers, there will be a brief meeting after school today in the library. You are expected to be there.
