Morning Announcements - Monday, February 11, 2019
Happy Birthday to Greer Wahl and Brenna Chasney!

The varsity girls basketball team dropped a hard fought contest to Willard 48 to 44 in overtime on Saturday. Hannah Vitaz paced the attack with 14 points and 7 rebounds, while Alana Fidler added 12 points, 4 rebounds, 4 steals and 4 assists. Aliyah Caporini chipped in with 7 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 steals. The junior varsity girls basketball team beat Willard 45 to 40 to improve to 15 and 5 on the year. Olivia Vitaz led the home team with 10 points, while Jayla Medina added 9 points and Lilli Schuster contributed 8 points. Lydia Woodyard tossed in 7 points and Lindsay Roberts scored 5 points.

The Lady Charger basketball teams conclude the regular season Thursday night when they host the Oak Harbor Rockets with a 6:00 junior varsity start. Come out and support our seniors Alana, Molly, Mariah, Sam, Jess, and Hannah in their final home game. Hope to see you courtside.

The Charger Wrestling Team ended an amazing run with a State Runner Up finish on Sunday at the State Dual Meet Tournament.  The Chargers opened with a 54-18 win over Bidwell River Valley.  They then followed with a 45-23 victory over #3 seed Versailles.  The Chargers fell in the state finals to #1 seed and returning state champion Genoa by a 52-23 score.  The Chargers will be back in action this weekend as they look for their third straight SBC Championship.  

The boys varsity basketball split this weekend with a win at Port Clinton on Friday and a loss Saturday against South Central. The boys were led Friday by Carson Ehrhardt and Larry Kessler, who each scored 16 points, and Lincoln Meredith who scored 11. The boys were led Saturday by Patrick Amburgy's 18 points, and Larry Kessler who scored 17. The boys are back in action tomorrow night when we host SBC rival Huron.

The Edison varsity bowling teams both participated in the Port Clinton tournament this past Saturday.  The boys took 5th, with Kevin McCloskey taking 4th on the All Conference team.  Kevin shot a 204, 267 and a 179!  The girls won the entire tournament making this their 4th tournament finishing 1st.  Kaylie Harris took 3rd on the All Tournament team, Elisa Villa took 5th and Halle Patton, Natalie Costello and Lily Shover all finished in the top 10!  Great job Charger Bowlers!

ACT Bootcamp kicks off tonight at 6:30.

Sadies tickets begin today and will remain available at lunch through Friday.  Tickets are $5.  All guest dance forms must also be in by Friday.  See Mrs. Davis with any questions

Senior photos for this year's yearbook are due by February 22.  Though a digital photo file is preferred, you can also drop off a wallet sized print photo.  Senior quotes are also due by the 22nd.

All Set, Light and Sound crew for the spring musical - please check the call board for our meeting times for the next 2 weeks.  We will work today after school until 5:30.  Please see Miss Cull if you can not attend.

The Math Lab is open everyday in room 402 during the lunch periods 5,6, and 7.

Book club will meet after school today to finish watching The Hate You Give in Room 203, and snacks will be provided.  The votes are in for our next read!:) We have 5 new members joining for the book selection of Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens.  Please see Mrs. Wobser if you'd like her to order a book for you:)

Now is the time to begin earning your invitation to the spring Edison Works Lunch BBQ.  On May 22nd students that qualify get to enjoy an hour and a half of fun in the sun along with a BBQ lunch.  To see how you can join the fun see the posters hanging around the building.  We hope to see all of you at lunch on May 22nd!

Time to buy your friend or that special person a flower for Valentine’s Day!  Today is the last day to purchase a carnation during lunch modules.  Flowers will be delivered to homerooms on Valentine's Day.  Thank you for your support!

Great Wolf Lodge in Sandusky is looking for help! Today,  February 11th, from 3- 6pm & Tuesday, February 12th,  from 10 am - 1:00 pm  they will be holding job interviews.  Many of the jobs start at $10.00 an hour.  You can get more information in the library or apply online.
