Morning Announcement for Thursday, March 14
Today’s trivia question is: How much does a pint of blood weigh?

The lunch menu for today is Chef Sally’s Macaroni & cheese served with a breadstick or chef’s choice sandwich or salad bar, fresh veggies, assorted fruit, and milk.

There is still time to place an order for your 2018-2019 yearbook. Just bring back your envelope or order one on online.  Mrs. Bishop has extra envelopes if you need one. We have to sell 40 more books to reach our quota. Monday, March 18 is the last day.

The Annual Edison Middle School Student Council Penny Wars has officially started for the 6th, 7th & 8th graders and runs through Wednesday March 20.  Each grade has a bottle that they may drop their donations into.  Pennies will add to the total, while silver like nickels, dimes, quarters and one dollar coins or bills will subtract from the total. Student council representatives will be in the gym every morning to assist you. The grade that collects the most amount of money will be rewarded to a make you own sundae event. If you have any questions, talk to your representatives.
The Power of the Pen teams competed in regional competition yesterday in Toledo. Individual honors were earned by 7th graders: Lillian Kreglow 11th place; Noah Proctor 7th place; and Taryn Hahn 1st place and regional 7th grade champion.

Marina Moore earned individual honors in 8th grade finishing in 7th place, and Zachary Main's story from district competition was named Best of the Round and Best of the Best and will be published in the Power of the Pen Book of Winners. The EMS 7th grade team finished in 1st place and was named Regional Champions. The EMS Power of the Pen teams also earned the Sweepstakes trophies for combined 7th and 8th-grade scores from district and regional competition. Congratulations to all!

The answer for today’s question is that a pint of blood weighs around one pound.

We would like to close with this quote from Tennessee Williams. “Luck is believing you’re lucky.”
