Morning Announcements - Thursday, May 9, 2019
At 4:45 Jv orange &  Jv softball will be at home with Margaretta. Also at 4:45, varsity baseball & varsity softball will be at Margaretta for their games.

The boys tennis team beat Huron on Wednesday night 3-2. Winning at singles was Nathan Spence. Winning for the doubles teams was Carter Kramer/Kaleb Yoder and Adam Frederick/Jacob Lombardi. The team is now 15-3 overall and 12-1 in the conference.

Kira Appeman threw a shutout to lead Chargers Varsity softball past Columbian 21-0 on Wednesday. The lady chargers racked up 23 hits in the game. Kayla Mancuso, Jessica Stoll, Grace Houser, Kira Appeman, Lindsey Fortuna, Morgan Scott, and Eliza Brickner each managed multiple hits. Fortuna, Appeman, Houser, Stoll, and Mancuso each collected three hits apiece. The girls play Margaretta away tonight. 

Edison JV Softball had everything working on Wednesday, winning big over Tiffin Columbian Tornadoes 15-2. The ladies got things moving in the first inning, when Vitaz singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run. Krul, Blatnik, Johnson, Lambert, Kowalski, and Vitaz powered the big inning with RBIs. Roberts took the win for Edison. The Chargers collected 12 hits. Kowalski and Vitaz each collected three hits to lead the Chargers.

The varsity baseball team lost to Upper Sandusky 3-2.  Caden Cooper doubled and had and RBI, Jadon Hanson doubled, while Caleb Bissell, Thomas Simon, and Cooper McIntyre all singled.

Attention Student Drivers:  The lot behind the new addition is now available for parking.  If all the spots are taken in the main student lot please park behind the building toward the game soccer field.

Attention seniors attending prom! If you are interested in running for prom king or queen, please see Mr. Newton to be on the ballot. Deadline will be Friday May 10!

Attention Seniors:  The annual Senior Walk will be Friday, May 24.  Please bring your cap and gown as the class will be traveling to the middle school and elementary to visit with your former teachers and to remind the younger students of the ultimate goal of graduating from high school.  Seniors will be dismissed 8th and 9th periods to travel by bus to the other buildings.  EHOVE seniors are encouraged to attend as well, plan to meet at the high school at 1:00.

Attention Students: Anyone interested in running for a class office position or student council may pick up an information sheet from the high school office.  Candidates for office must meet the criteria listed on the information sheet.  Student speeches and elections will be held on Thursday, May 16th.

Juniors Micaela and Hannah Coon are hosting Grey Skies & Blue hearts: A poetry workshop this Saturday from 9-11:00 at Sheri’s Coffeehouse. This will be a workshop that will focus on healing through poetry and why individuals write poetry.  There will be many featured guest poets and authors with a book signing to be held afterwards.  Please make plans to attend this Saturday! 

Student athletes are asked to schedule your sports physicals for Tuesday May 21st between 5 - 6:00.  See Mrs. Miller to schedule a time prior to the 21st.  There is a $15 fee to be paid at the time of your physical.  Physical packs can be picked up in the athletic office.  

Any girl interested in playing girls soccer next year is invited to a Player/Parent meeting tonight at 7pm in the High School cafeteria.

Art Club will meet today after school. Any Senior Art student, past or present, wishing to display their artwork for Senior Recognition Night should bring it in to Mr. Wolff in the Art Room by Friday.
