Morning Announcements - Monday, April 8, 2019
Happy Birthday to Jailyn Sims and Lanease Cook!

At 3:00 today the Music Department will host talent show tryouts. At 4:00, tennis will be at Port Clinton. At 4:45, varsity baseball & varsity softball will be at home with Vermilion, and at 5:00, Jv orange and Jv softball will be at Vermilion.

The boys track team finished 2nd in a 12 team field at the New London relays Saturday. The Chargers broke a 25 year old meet record. The 4X1600 team of Dan Lambert, Jon Hrivnak, Keagan Grames and Ty Coon broke the record by 5 seconds. The 4X800 team of Lambert, Hrivnak, Cole Weilnau and Coon ran a 8:21 to break that record also! The long jump team of Ian Janssen, Justin Daniel and Garrett Scott also broke a record! Also finishing first was the 4X100 team of Connor Romell, Ian Janssen, Justin Daniel and Joe Stoll. Way to go guys!

The varsity baseball team swept a double header from St. Paul by scores of 7-5 and 8-4.  Jadon Hanson had 4 hits on the day.  Cooper McIntyre had 2 doubles and 4 RBI's, while Caleb Bissell and Thomas Simon each hit doubles.  Simon picked up the win in game one, while Chase O'Dell got the win in game 2 after the team scored 6 runs in the top of the 7th inning to take the lead. The team plays at home against Vermilion today.

A reminder to all football players that mulch sales are due this Friday!

Interact will have a very important meeting this Wednesday April 10th at 7:00pm.  Please make plans to be here! 

Any senior interested in designing the front cover of the senior awards banquet booklet needs to turn in your design to Ms. Mehlow no later than April 15th.  

Attention to all GEOMETRY students: The end of course exam for GEOMETRY will be given at the end of this month. There will be geometry review sessions in the MATH LAB on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays during each of the three lunch periods until the end of course exam is given on April 29 and May 2!  Bring your lunch  along with geometry questions that you may have to room 402!

French Club and Spanish Club students are invited make Doctors Without Borders bracelets after school on Tuesday after school at 3pm in Madame's room.  No supplies or experience needed.

There will be an information meeting on Wednesday evening at 6pm in room 503 for anyone interested in participating in the French exchange program next year - hosting and/or traveling. Come and ask questions, bring ideas and get information.  See you there! 

Are you looking for summer work close to home with the possibility of bonuses at the end of the summer? Schlessman Seed Company in Milan is looking for high school students with great work ethics to work for them this summer. A representative from Schlessman Seed will be here on Tuesday April 16th at 7:45 am to meet with interested students and provide basic information about what the summer job will entail and answer any questions.

Attention all juniors and seniors! Prom will be on May 11th this year at the Colonnade from 8-11PM. Tickets will be on sale from April 8 - April 26. Each ticket will be $30 and can be purchased during your lunch or after school. If planning on bringing a guest from a different school, you and your date will need to fill out a form. If you have questions, please see Mr. Newton!

Attention Seniors: If you have a relative that was a former Marine there may be a scholarship opportunity for you.  If you have a parent, grandparent or a close relative that was a former Marine please see Ms. Mehlow as soon as possible.

Attention Speech and Debate Team, the awards banquet will be on Monday, April 15th at 6:30 PM. Please plan on attending!

Has a teacher impacted your life? Has he or she helped you when you were struggling? Helped you with a project? Stop by the library and fill out a staff member shoutout slip and place it in the box in the library! The shoutouts will be posted on the board in the hallway once you turn one in! 

All Speech and Debate members are reminded to pay their $10 to Lexi Weyer ASAP.  Lexi is in the library at this time if you’d like to pay OR if you’ve already paid see her to sign the card! 

Anyone that is doing the talent show should give their application to the music teachers, Mrs. Reilly and Miss Hartley.  Talent show auditions are today after school.  Grades 7 - 12 will tryout for the talent show from 3-5pm.  Grades kindergarten to 6 grade will tryout from 5 - 7.  All talent show tryouts are in the high school band room.   Please see the music teachers if you have any questions about the talent show tryouts today after school.
