Morning Announcements - Friday, September 11, 2020
Happy Birthday to Arianna Heyl, Aidan Metz, Lindsey Steele, Kennedy Keefer, Lindsay Sneider, Caleb Bell & Kade Romell! 
 
Tonight at 7:00 the Charger varsity football will be at Willard. On Saturday morning, JV football will be at home with Willard at 10:00, boys & girls cross country will be at Tiffin Covid Classic. Also at 10, JV & varsity volleyball will be at St. Mary’s, and at 11:00, girls varsity soccer will be at Crestview.
 
The girls tennis team lost to Willard on Thursday 2-3. Winning for the Chargers at no. 1 singles was Jayla Medina and winning at no. 1 doubles was the team of Torri Keyser/Alli Vogus. The team is now 9-4. Winning for the JV girls tennis vs. Willard last night were doubles partners Noelle Marcy & Rianna Dingle.
 
The Edison girls JV soccer team had a tough loss to Huron, 4-0 on Thursday night. The Chargers will look to bounce back next week as they hit the road for their first away match at Sandusky. 
 
The varsity volleyball team improved to 5-3 by beating Willard 26-24, 25-17, 25-19.  Kira Appeman, Olvia Vitaz, Lilli Schuster, and Lydia Woodyard each had 7 kills.  Appeman led the defense with 21 digs, Vitaz served 12 points, and Reagan King dished out 13 assists.  
The JV volleyball team dropped a close 3 set match to Willard by scores of 24-26, 25-14, 22-25.  Kalli Quillen served 11 points and Natalie Leimeister served 9 points.
 
The girls golf team lost to Gibsonburg last night 173 - 197.  Low scores for the Chargers were Lauren Neher with a 39 and Ava Grant with a 43.  Meredith Unger and Mallory Meister also scored for the Chargers.
 
A reminder to the Blue Group that picture day is next Wednesday starting at 8 am.  There are extra order forms in the office if you need one.  
Students are reminded to answer the Homeroom Google Classroom questions every day.  On the days you are here it is a health question that you need to answer by 8:00 am.  On your 3 virtual days it is an attendance question that you need to answer by 2:00 pm. Thank you.
 
Any student driving to and from school must register your vehicle.  Registration forms may be picked up at the office or on Final Forms.  The cost for the vehicle registration tag is $1 and it must be hung from your rearview mirror.

If you are interested in joining the Speech & Debate Club this year, there is a quick informational meeting after school in the library today for the blue group. Plan to attend!

Any girls in grades 9-12 interested in playing basketball this season, there is a sign-up sheet in the athletic office. Any questions, contact Coach Kurt in room 605.
 
On Monday October 5th, the ASVAB test will be given here at Edison. The ASVAB is a multiple-aptitude battery used for military entrance and placement.This test can also be used as a career exploration and planning program for students. Note: Participants are not under any obligation to the Military as a result of taking the ASVAB. If you are interested in taking this test, please see Ms Spademan by Friday September 25th. 
 
Show choir auditions are on Tuesday, September 15th and Thursday, September 17th, Sign up for a time slot in the music hallway and also get the music.  Posters show the links for the music and the dance video. Come join a great fun group of people. Any questions, - See Ms Notley
