Morning Announcements - Monday, March 9, 2020

All Juniors will be taking the ACT test tomorrow. Students are encouraged to please limit noise when going to your locker and in the hallways in between classes today. Thank you for cooperation.

The Charger Wrestling Team dominated the Division III District Tournament by scoring 227 points and qualifying a record setting 10 wrestlers to the State Tournament.  Winning district titles were Max Hermes, Casey Barnett, and Jacob Brewer.  Finishing second were Jared Fantauzzi, Shad Slone, and Logan Lloyd.  Taking third were Alec Homan and Hunter Vogus.  Rounding out the scoring in fourth place were Jacob Thompson and Cason Holmes.  The Chargers will compete at the state tournament this Friday-Sunday in Columbus.

Congratulations to Allyson Gardner who placed 10th in Lincoln Douglas Debate at the State Speech and Debate tournament in Wooster this weekend.  Ally advanced to the Quarter-final round and was the only debater out of a field of 88 that defeated the new State Champion in preliminary rounds.  Congratulations also to Lorain Clawson and Will Duniver who won sweepstakes points for the Edison team in Congressional debate!

The Edison Drama Club is proud to present Honk!, a heartwarming musical based upon Hans Christian Anderson’s tale of the Ugly Duckling. Honk tells the story of an odd-looking duckling, Ugly, and his journey to find his mother while he reaches many obstacles along the way - one of them being -  running into a hungry feline in search of his next meal. Make sure to come see the show at one of the following times. The cast and crew love to see their fellow peers support their passion of being on stage. Showtimes are March 12th, 13th, and 14th at 7:30 in the evening and March 15th at 2:00 in the afternoon.

Student Council is hosting a blood drive that will take place this Thursday, March 12, in the gym from 8am-1pm. Please donate if you are able, you can help to save a life! To sign up please see Halle Patton.

Attention all 2020 Football players, there will be a brief meeting today after school in the auditorium to kick-off our annual Mulch Fundraiser.  All players need to attend to get the information.  See Coach Hall if there are any questions

Attention cast, crew and musicians for Honk.  Please arrive early for tonight's rehearsal so that we are ready for a 6:00 curtain.  Cast members will need time to get into costume and get thief mics checked.

This is a reminder to all students who are seeking membership or maintaining membership in the Spanish Honor Society that all service and credit forms are due by March 31st.

Tickets for the spring musical HONK will go on sale today during lunch. If you buy a ticket, you will not only get to see an amazing show but you will also get a rubber duck AND A chance to win a gift card to Taco Bell or Dunkin Donuts! We will draw a name every day next week so the sooner you buy your ticket the more chances you have to win!

If you want a FREE ticket, be on the look-out for ducks around the school. There will be 5 rubber ducks hidden around the school on Monday. If you find a hidden duck that says WINNER on the bottom bring it to the ticket sales table to get a FREE ticket to HONK!

A reminder that mandatory tennis practice begins tonight.  Those wanting to play should be at the courts by 3:15!
