Morning Announcements - Wednesday, March 4, 2020
Happy Birthday to Emma Smith & Sean Rhodes!

Welcome to National Foreign Language week!  This week, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find Carmen Sandiego and her accomplices to return the world’s artifacts.  Report your findings to Mrs. Moyer in the library - she is offering a reward for all intel.

The cafeteria will be transformed into a delicious Italian kitchen today for lunch to continue our celebration of National Foreign Language Week!
Join us for lunch - Unisciti a noi per il pranzo!

Today all freshmen, sophomores and juniors are scheduling 2020-2021 classes.  This is taking place during your study hall.  Those students on Response need to report to study hall at the beginning of the period.  When you are finished you may return to Response.  Those students who do not have a study hall previously received an invitation with the designated time to report.  Your teachers are aware you are missing a few minutes of class to do this.  When you are finished you will return to your class.  All students must bring your chromebook.  All other items will be provided to assist you in entering your course requests.

Any senior who is submitting their own photo for the yearbook must do so by Friday, March 6th.

What does soccer legend David Beckham and pop star Rhianna have in common with your EHS morning announcements crew? We’ve all been seen wearing Pura Vida bracelets? Why? Not only are they the coolest handmade bracelets, but each sale supports small business owners in Costa Rica who provide jobs for hundreds of struggling families.

Bracelets are just $6 each and may be purchased through any of the sophomore representatives: Brenna Chasney, Lorain Clawson, Aidan Anderson, Otto Berckmueller, Connor Betts, or Mr. Collins. Thank you for your support!

Attention anyone interested in skiing or snowboarding! This Saturday, March 7th is Edison snow day at Snow Trails in Mansfield.  Lift tickets, rentals, and lessons are ten dollars each. This deal can apply to Edison students, friends, and family. If you are interested or have questions, see coach Shelley. You must be pre registered to receive this amazing deal.

There will be a meeting for anyone interested in trying out for middle school or high school cheerleading for next year on Sunday, March 8th at 6pm in the high school cafeteria.

It’s rainy and cold, why not stay after school today for the last chess game day of the year! If you feel you need to get one last chess match in - join the Chess Club in Mr. Newton’s room!

Book Club will meet Friday, March 6th, at 7:15 in Room 203 to discuss the rest of Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng. Breakfast treats will be provided.  Hope to see you soon!

The Spanish Club Cook-In has been rescheduled for today. Sign ups begin today. The restaurant outing will be rescheduled for a later date.

Thank-you to all of our informants - we have some excellent detectives here!  Crash Course Storts was apprehended and La Silla Telescope has been restored to the good people of Chile.  But Carmen escaped and has struck again! Winner from yesterday us Allison Collins, please come to the library.

Athens has been hit by Carmen!  She has stolen the statue of Socrates from the main plaza!  She is hiding out with her over-booked accomplice. The two met when she asked this very smart man where in the world was democracy invented. His response: "The only thing I know is that I know nothing."   Find the accomplice and report your intel to Lead Detective Moyer in the library for your reward.
