Morning Announcements - Monday, February 8, 2021
Happy Birthday to Sophia Guerra! 
 
Tonight the JV and varsity girls basketball teams will be at home vs. Norwalk tonight at 6:00.
 
Congratulations to Allyson Gardner and Mallory Stiles for qualifying to the Speech & Debate State Tournament! Club members are reminded - if you want to compete at the second State Qualifying tournament or at the National Qualifying tournament, sign up by this Wednesday!  
 
Chargers took on Margaretta for Senior night at River Lanes! The lady bowlers came away with a great win with Allison Collins leading the way with a 308 series and Natalie Costello right behind with 288.
 
Charger boys also bowled well leaving the Polar Bears in the dust! Leading the boys with a nice 396 was Cole Manning and close behind was Corbin Taylor with 389.
 
The boys varsity basketball team dropped two this past weekend at Willard and at South Central. The boys were led in scoring on Friday by Grant Ott, who scored 8 points in limited minutes. Saturday, the boys played well with a balanced offensive attack but ultimately fell short. The boys return to action this Wednesday v. Keystone, Friday v. Port Clinton for Senior Night, and Saturday v. Huron. 
 
The Lady Chargers defeated Port Clinton on Saturday 69-59, to move to 11-6 on the season. Scoring the way for the Lady Chargers was Aliyah Caporini with 25 points, Lilli Schuster with 12, Lindsay Roberts with 10, Jayla Medina with 9, Deana Blatnik with 5, Kalli Quillen with 4, Danielle Blatnik with 2, and Jamie Teed with 2 points. Congratulations to Aliyah Caporini on surpassing the 1,000 point mark in the game, becoming the fourth girl in school history to achieve the milestone. The Lady Chargers will be back in action tonight at home against Norwalk.
 
Choir Council will be doing their annual $1 valentine carnation sale this week through Wednesday February 10th. This year you will place your order through a google form  - so please check your email, fill out the form and send that special someone OR friend, a flower to let them know you appreciate them. 
 
Attention senior members of National Honor Society - our monthly meeting will be tomorrow, Feb 9 at 2:55 pm in the Library.  See Mrs. Facemire if you can not attend as this is an important meeting.
 
The Lead 2 Hope students will be selling Lead 2 Hope face masks for $7. If you’d like to order - forms are available in the library outside Ms Wilson’s door or you may purchase them from any lead 2 hope member.  Place your order no later than February 15. 
 
Interact are still collecting items for the men’s group home for Valentines Day! Interact members are asked to donate something. We’d like to brighten their day with a special box filled with goodies.  Stop by the library for a list of items you can donate! We will be accepting items through Thursday.  All items can be dropped off in the library! Thank you for your kindness!
