The Charger Wrestling Team won their 5th straight SBC Title on Wednesday night by outlasting Oak Harbor by 1/2 point in thrilling fashion. Jackson Berardi recorded a pin in the final match of the night to give the Chargers the title. Winning SBC titles for the Chargers were Max Hermes, Kohen Horvath, Casey Barnett, Shad Slone, Remington Bauer, Logan Lloyd, and Gavyn Klima. Placing 2nd were Marcus Medina and Jacob Thompson. Duke Hermes and Jackson Berardi finished 3rd and Garrett Scott rounded out the scoring in 4th place. Casey Barnett reached another milestone by becoming one of a select few wrestlers to ever win 4 SBC Titles. Congratulations Casey!
The Lady Chargers moved to 12-8 last night as they defeated Keystone 59-25. Scoring for the Chargers was Deana Blatnik with 13 points, Aliyah Caporini with 12, Lindsay Roberts & Lilli Schuster had 8, Kalli Quillen with 6, Jayla Medina with 5, Isabella Sanabria with 3, Danielle Blatnik with 2 points, and Madison Chaput with 2 points. The Lady Chargers are back in action tonight at Huron for the last regular-season game.
The Athletic Department would like to congratulate the following student-athletes for being nominated by their coaches as athlete of the month for January. Casey Barnett - Casey broke the school record for career wins with 215 and is currently ranked #1 in the state. Lilli Schuster - Lilli has averaged 7.5 points and 5.7 rebounds over the month of January. She had 12 points and 9 rebounds against Port Clinton, and 12 points and 7 rebounds against Huron. Please stop into the athletic office and pick up your award.
If you haven’t paid for your carnations yet, you need to go to the band room during lunch to pay. If they are not paid for by 8th period today, you will not receive them.
