Boys/Girls Cross Country - Sandusky Bay Conference
This past weekend the boys and girls cross country teams made Sandusky Bay Conference history by becoming only the second school to have both teams win three consecutive conference titles. The boys defeated Willard by a score of 38 to 56 and the girls beat Huron 41-69. All five scorers for the girls made the All-Conference team.  Abby Lesniak defended her individual conference championship by defeating her closest rival by 23 seconds. Senior Isabel Chasney placed third to also garner first team honors. The pack running of Katie Jeremay, Paige Schaefer and Lindsay Sneider secured the win for the Lady Chargers by placing 11th, 12th and 14th which was good for getting all three girls second team all-conference honors. The boys were again led by the one two punch of juniors Daniel Lambert and Tyler Coon. Daniel defended his individual conference championship with a seven second victory over Tyler who finished runner-up in the race. In the process of defending his title Daniel set the school record for juniors with a time of 16 minutes and 13 seconds for a 5k race. Also getting first team honors was senior Jon Hrivnak who finished in 6th place overall. Rounding out the scoring for the Chargers were Aidan Anderson in 14th  and Dax Austin in 15th which were good enough for second team honors. Up next for the Chargers are the districts this next Saturday at Amman’s Reservoir in Galion.
