Dear Parents/Guardians:
I hope that this letter finds all of you enjoying what is left of your summer. The start of school is quickly approaching and preparations are being made at Edison Middle School for the 2018-2019 school year. We are extremely excited about the new school year and the opportunity to welcome you and your child to Edison Middle School. To help you plan for your child’s upcoming year, an orientation and open house has been scheduled for Tuesday, August 21st between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM. The orientation will consist of a brief presentation in the gymnasium, followed by an open house tour of the classrooms. Students are encouraged to bring their supplies (list included) to the orientation and take them to their homerooms, which will be listed on the entrance to the Middle School and the school website in the near future. Students will also pick up their class schedule in their homeroom. This year’s orientation and open house schedule is as follows:
- 4th & 5th grade students with last names beginning with the letters A-L 12:00 – 12:30 in the gym; 12:30 – 1:00 open house
- 4th & 5th grade students with last names beginning with the letters M-Z 12:45 – 1:15 in the gym; 1:15 – 1:45 open house
- All 6th, 7th, & 8th grade students 1:45 – 2:15 in the gym; 2:15 – 2:45 open house
**Please note that these presentations are the same for each group, so if you have multiple children in grades 4-8 it is only necessary to attend one.
During the orientations, the teachers will be in their homerooms, and the principal will be available to answer questions or concerns you may have regarding class schedules, bus routes, routines, and academic expectations.
Many parents have chosen to take this opportunity to pay student fees. The student fee this year is $30 per student. Please take advantage of this opportunity if you are able, as it will be one less thing to worry about once school starts.
