Morning Announcements - Monday, January 7, 2019
Happy Birthday to Josh LeJeune!

The varsity girls basketball team lost to Willard last Friday 45 to 30. Jessica Stoll paced the attack with 9 points, while Alana Fidler and Hannah Vitaz added 7 and 6 points respectively. Vitaz hauled down a team leading 11 rebounds, while Aliyah Caporini snatched 9 caroms, and Fidler grabbed 7 boards. The junior varsity girls lost a nail biter to Willard 39 to 38. Lindsay Roberts led all scorers with 18 points, while Olivia Vitaz chipped in with 8 tallies. The Lady Charger basketball teams are back in action tomorrow night when they travel to Oak Harbor for a 5:30 junior varsity start. Hope to see you courtside.

The varsity bowling teams were at Cedar Lanes this Saturday for the conference tournament.  The boys finished fourth overall, with Kevin McCloskey taking top honors for the conference with at 258, 204 and 193 for a 655 series. Great job Kevin!  The varsity girls took over all 1st place and won the conference.  Kaylie Harris took top honors for the girls with a 180, 177, and a 165 for a 522 series.  For the first time ever, the Edison girls took the top 4 out of 5 spots.  Lily Shover finished 2nd, Natalie Costello took 3rd and Elisa Villa took 4th!  Great job by both teams! 

The boys varsity basketball defeated Port Clinton last Thursday 73-57. Leading the team in scoring was Larry Kessler, who scored 17, Carson Ehrhardt had 15, Patrick Amburgy had 12, Caleb Bissell had 11, and Dylan O'Dell scored 10 points. The boys lost in action at Willard this past Saturday, and were led again by Larry Kessler, who scored 18 points and Carson Ehrhardt who scored 13 points. The boys return to action this Friday at Oak Harbor.

We are selling t-shirts and wristbands to benefit Anne Meredith and her battle with cancer.  T-shirt Order forms are in the athletic office and the library.  Wristbands are $2 and are in the athletic office and will also be sold during the lunch modules.  TLC will be hosting a spaghetti dinner from 4:30-6:30 before the freshmen basketball game vs. Bellevue on Jan 25th.  There will also be a bake sale and a basket raffle during the game that evening.  Please plan to come out and support Mrs. Meredith in any way you can on Friday the 25th.  

Firelands Challenge team members should make arrangements to take the test today during study hall OR after school today.

The Math Lab in room 402 is available during all lunch periods every day. Please make arrangements with Mrs. Wallrabenstein to schedule tutoring sessions.

Just a reminder to all junior and senior National Honor Society members and potential members - all service hours are due by 2:50 PM on Friday. Please see Miss Cull if you have any questions.

Senior members - our last meeting of the semester will be on Tuesday Jan 8 right after school in Miss Cull's room. Please see her if you can not attend.

The Edison Middle School and High school  Drama Clubs are  proud to present their  Winter One Acts, Ten Ways to Survive the End of the World and Greek Mythology Olympiaganza  7:30  Friday, January 11th, and Saturday, January 12th,  All seating is general admission. Tickets will be sold at the door. From ancient history to the end of the world, you won’t want to miss this! Come support the cast and crew! We hope to see you there!

Are you interested in politics and looking for someone to discuss current events with? This Wednesday morning you will have an opportunity to do that.  Stop by Mr. Collins room - that’s room 202, at 7:30 and talk politics! Everyone is welcome to attend! 

Book Club will meet after school in Room 203 on Friday, Jan. 11, to discuss up through page 141/Chapter 25 of Dumplin'.  We will enjoy some snacks as well.  Hope you can make it!
