Today’s Halloween Riddle is: Why don’t mummies take vacations?

The Coin-A-Day  Challenge starts today and continues through Friday, October 25.  The money raised will be used to purchase books for the classroom’s libraries.  Containers are in the Language Arts Rooms for you to put your donation. Tomorrow’s coin is nickels. The Language Arts classroom that collects the highest overall total will win a reward!

There will be a meeting for those interested in wrestling this school year at 2:30 in the cafeteria. There will be a PA announcement calling you down.

Reminder to those students in grades 6th, 7th & 8th interested in Robotics: Tryouts are this week only. The days have been changed to Tuesday and Friday. You may try out either of those two days during homeroom time. It is strongly encouraged that you read the paper about tryouts posted outside Ms. Wood's room and available on the middle school website PRIOR to tryouts to prepare.

Mr. Amstutz will meet with congressional debaters on Wednesday after school in the library from 3-3:20pm and with speech interpretation competitors  from 3:20-4pm on Wednesday, also in the library. Any student that has not already turned in their paper work with parental signature and plans to compete with the Edison Middle School Speech and Debate team must turn in their paperwork by this Wednesday in order to compete. If you have lost your paperwork, you can pick up a copy in the Main Office.

Claire Michaelis and Mason Leber traveled to Columbus this weekend to participate in the state middle school cross country meet and both brought home medals. Mason finished in 5th out of 195 runners with a time of 11:19 and Claire finished 11th out of 169 runners with a time of 12:51. Congratulations to both of these outstanding runners on your accomplishments!

The answer to the Halloween riddle is that mummies are afraid to take vacations because they are afraid that they will unwind.

We would like to close with a quote from William Shakespeare: “Things done well and with a care, exempt themselves from fear.”
