Morning Announcements - Friday, August 27, 2021

Tonight at 7, varsity football will be at Bellevue. On Saturday morning, at 8:00, cross country will be at the Seneca East Invite. At 9:00, girls tennis is at the Perkins Invite. At 10:00, varsity volleyball will be at Mohawk and also at 10, JV football is home with Bellevue. At noon, boys golf is at the Norwalk Invite.
 
The girls tennis team beat Calvert on Thursday 3-2. Winning at singles were Alli Vogus, Torri Keyser and Emily Moore. The team is now 3-2 and will participate in the Perkins Doubles Tournament on Saturday. 
 
The Edison Girls golf team defeated Huron last night at Thunderbird North by a score of 192 - 250.  The 192 was a season best for the Lady Chargers. Scoring for the Chargers were: Ava Grant 42, Madison Butler 46, Meredith Unger 48 and Mallory Meister with a 56. The Lady Chargers are back in action Monday night when they host Hopewell-Loudon.
 
The varsity volleyball team swept Clyde by scores of 25-9, 25-18, 25-18.  Kira Appeman led the team with 12 kills and 14 digs.  Olivia Vitaz had 22 assists, 13 digs, and 7 points.  Lydia Woodyard led all scorers with 11 points and also had 6 kills and 13 digs.  Lindsay Roberts had 7 points and 3 kills, Skylie Hixon had 12 digs, and Olivia Wilson had 5 kills.
 
The JV volleyball team lost to Clyde 25-20, 21-25, 20-25.  Sianna Woodyard and Ingrid Berckmueller were the leading scorers.
 
The freshmen volleyball team lost to Clyde 20-25 and 20-25.  Isabella Wilson was the top server.
 
There is a new suggestion box located outside of the library. If any student or staff member has a suggestion please write it out and put it in the box.  All suggestions will be considered.
 
The Athletic office is now selling pre-sale tickets for the varsity football game at Bellevue tonight.  All pre-sale tickets are $5.  All tickets at the gate are $7.
 
Last year's yearbooks will be available for pick-up and autographs this morning before school in the cafeteria!  Please see Mrs. Roan if you have any questions. 
 
Attention athletes - if you earned your varsity letter in the past you are eligible to purchase a varsity E pass for $25.  This gets you into every event all year long.  Stop into the athletic office to get yours this week!!
 
Once again this year Edison will be offering our Edison Works closet that offers personal care items, professional clothing for job interviews, school supplies and new clothes.  Everything is kept confidential.  Please contact Mrs. Wilson, Mrs. Kovach or Mrs. Moyer for more information.  
 
Edison is also offering the food pantry again this year. Should you need food to take home or are hungry during the day, please contact Mrs. Kovach for more information.

Students interested in joining the Speech & Debate Club should plan on attending a short after school meeting on Tuesday, August 31st! Returning club members should also attend for this year's tournament schedule and officer nomination forms! The meeting will be in the new collaboration center
