Morning Announcements - Friday, September 17, 2021

 
Student Council would like to thank everyone who participated in spirit week! We also hope you have fun at the Homecoming dance tomorrow night at 8!
 
This morning, boys golf will be at the Erie County Invite. Tonight at 7:00, varsity football will be at home with Woodward. The theme for tonight's game is PURPLE! On Saturday morning, cross country will be at the Galion Invite. At 9:30, girls varsity soccer is at home with Brookside. At 10:00, Jv and varsity volleyball will be at home with St. Mary’s
At 11:00, boys varsity soccer is at home with Brookside, and at 1:00, boys golf will be at St Joe’s.
 
The boys varsity soccer team dropped a tough match last night to Oak Harbor by a score of 2-1. Langedan Liemiester-Day with the lone goal for the Chargers. The boys look to bounce back on Saturday as they host Brookside at 11AM. 
 
The Lady Chargers beat Huron last night in girls golf 210 - 235.Leading the way for the Chargers was Ava Grant with a 42 and Mallory Meister with a 50 that included a great birdie.  Also scoring for the Chargers were Maddie Butler 54, Meredith Unger 55, Anna Smith 58 and Jamie Teed 59. The Lady Chargers are back in action next Tuesday at Fremont Country Club in the SBC Tournament.
 
The varsity volleyball team beat Willard 18-25, 25-16, 25-19, 25-12.   Lindsay Roberts served 19 points and also added 7 kills and 5 blocks. Kira Appeman and Lydia Woodyard led the team at the net with 15 and 14 kills respectively.  Olivia Vitaz dished out 37 assists, Skylie Hixon had 13 digs, Karin Wlodarsky had 3 kills and 5 digs, and Oliva Wilson added 2 kills. The JV volleyball team beat Willard 25-18, 25-18.  Ella Habeck led the team with 6 points. The freshman volleyball team beat the Flashes 25-15, 25-20.  Kendall Balde served 13 points.
 
The girls tennis team beat Calvert on Thursday 4-1. Winning at singles were Alli Vogus, Torri Keyser and Emily Moore. Winning at doubles was the team of McKenna Shaffoe and Ally Gardner. The team is now 7-4.
 
A friendly reminder from the cafeteria-
Students are able to receive one school lunch at no cost. If you come through the line for a second lunch or for any ala carte/extra items- you have to enter your student ID number and pay for your items. Unfortunately we are having students trying to receive two free school lunches- which is not allowable. We are asking for your cooperation in following the set rules so that we can continue to offer all of our Edison students meals at no cost. Please contact Mrs Geason if you have any questions!
 
Please take a moment out of your day to vote for your Homecoming King and Queen.  The form will be in your emails this morning.
 
Any student that is interested in joining Key Club, there is an informational sheet outside the office.  Key Club dues must be paid in the office by Tuesday, September 28.
 
Attention all students - please check out the lost and found - we already have lots of sweaters, planners, pencil cases and many other things! Lost and found is located in the janitors room across from the restrooms. 
 
Congratulations to this year's Speech & Debate officers! Treasurer - Jeff Esser, Historian - Addy Puraty, Secretary - Brienna Marcy, Debate Captain - Otto Berckmueller, Vice President - Aidan Anderson, and Co-Presidents Connor Betts and Allyson Gardner. 
 
Those students who didn’t have a chance to sign up for Interact can stop by the library for more information.
 
The athletic office is selling pre-sale tickets for the Homecoming football game Friday night vs. Woodward.  All pre-sale tickets are $5 while tickets at the gate are $7.  
 
A reminder to those Spanish Club members who would like to run for an officer position, your petition is due on Monday September, 20th to Profe or Profesora. 
 
Any student interested in participating in the annual OCTM Mathematics contest held at the end of the month, please see Mrs. Facemire for information. Registration is due by September 24. 
 
A reminder to all students, if you have received a Do Right Ticket in the past 3 weeks, make sure you have deposited them in the box in the cafeteria! 
 
It's that time Charger Nation ~ Homecoming 2021 is Saturday!! If you plan to bring a guest to homecoming who is not from Edison, please see Mrs Davis to pick up a dance form.  This form must be filled out and returned ASAP. Ticket sales will continue through lunch today and will be available after school in Mrs. Davis’s room - 204! Tickets are $15 per person. 
 
Any students wishing to run for a Key Club officer position should sign-up on the sheet outside of the auditorium.
