Morning Announcements - Monday, May 23, 2022

Happy Birthday to Aydan Houser, Aaron Febbo, Logan Smith and Mia Budka!
 
The Edison baseball team was well represented in this weekend's District 9 voting.  Thomas Simon and Xander Danner were both voted to the first team, Clint Finnen to the 2nd team, while Hayden Fry and Ben Bates all made Honorable Mention All District 9.  Thomas Simon was also selected as the Division 3 Player of the Year.  Congratulations guys!
 
The varsity baseball team won their 13th straight sectional title by beating Western Reserve 13-1 in 5 innings on Friday.  Thomas Simon pitched 4 innings to get the win, giving up just two hits while striking out 9.  Ben Bates pitched the 5th inning and struck out all 3 batters he faced.  Xander Danner led the offense with a single, a double, a triple, 3 runs scored and 2 RBI's.  Thomas Simon, Bryce Michaelis, and Hayden Fry each had 2 hits and Hayden Fox doubled.  Max Hoover and Noah Smith had one hit apiece, while Simon and Hoover each added 2 RBI's.  The team plays Wynford in the district semi-finals at 4:30 at Norwalk High School on Thursday.
 
There will be a meeting for anyone interested in being a part of the girls tennis team next fall. The meeting will be Wednesday after school in Coach Meredith's room. If you cannot attend please see Coach Meredith or Coach Newt.
 
The cross country team is looking to put together another great SBC championship team this coming fall and you are invited!  We will have a short meeting today after school in Mrs. Facemire's room to discuss summer plans and to gather information for next year. Even if you have never ran cross country before, we will help you get in shape and we will welcome you on to the team. See Mrs. Facemire if you have any questions and we hope to see you Monday!
 
All girls who are interested in golfing in the fall, there will be a meeting after school on Tuesday, May 24th in Mr. Newton's room. Summer schedules will be given out. 
 
Any boys interested in playing on the high school golf team this fall that didn't make it to the meeting, please sign up in the athletic office.
 
For the Erie County Senior Donations, we are asking that people bring in their donations to the LIBRARY, not their homerooms! The drive starts today. Just a reminder that anyone who brings in even one item is eligible for the field day on May 27th! But remember, if you don’t, you won’t be allowed! So bring in your items!

Attention Students:  Many of you have lunch accounts that are running low, so please make sure you have sufficient funds available before making purchases in the cafeteria. Today for lunch we will be having :  Chicken Tenders w/ Sauce & soft pretzel or you may choose the daily grab & go.
