The varsity baseball team won their 3rd straight district championship by beating Oak Harbor 3-0.  Blake Simon pitched a complete game one hitter with no walks and 7 strikeouts.  Carson Smith led the offense with a double and a single.  Clint Finnen had a single and an RBI. Bryson Wittmer, Marcus Medina, Dominic Dymond, Max Hoover, Blake Simon, and Davin Wendt all singled, and Hayden Fry had one RBI.
 
The teams regional semi-final game is on Thursday at Patrick Henry High School at 2 pm.
 
First I would like to thank everyone for participating in the class Olympics, and now to announce the winners. If you´ve won a gold medal then you can come down to the library to pick up your prize. In soccer the gold medal goes to Jeff Esser, the silver medal goes to Wade Ruggles, and bronze medal goes to Mary Moon. In kickball the gold medal goes to J Williams, the silver medal goes to Jose Serna-Amaya, and bronze goes to Ayden Reader. For those in the Dodgeball event gold goes to George Rhodes, silver goes to Cam Sallee, and bronze goes to Cole Liemister. For those in the sponge race the gold medal goes to Sarah Gates, silver to Lily Kreglow, and bronze goes to Jenna Keoghan. For those in the Volleyball event, gold goes to Luke Blatnik, silver to Meredith Unger, and bronze to Zach Rang. In Tug of war gold goes to Caleb Johnson, silver to Jack Woodyard, bronze to Kelly Wilson. For those in the Wiffle ball game, gold goes to Carson Smith, silver to Kyle Agular and bronze to Andrew Gray. Finally for those who played Cornhole Gold goes to Cy Finnen, silver to Abe Hermes and bronze to Hayden Fry.
 
Attention students interested in competing in policy debate next year:  Mr.  Amstutz has the first debate materials ready and will meet with interested students in the innovation room immediately after school on Wednesday.  Anyone is welcome to attend this informational meeting about next year's debate topic on income inequality in the United States.  Mr. Amstutz will also have schedules for tournaments for the 2023-2024 competitive year.
