Morning Announcements - Thursday, May 5, 2022
Happy Birthday to Cullen Wilbur, Jace Jeremay, Julian Villa and Cora Isbell!
 
At 4:15, tennis is at Port Clinton and at 4:45, JV softball is home with Clyde. Varsity baseball is home with Margaretta and JV baseball is at Margaretta.
 
The boys tennis team beat Perkins on Wednesday 3-2. Winning at singles was Noah Proctor at no. 2.  Winning at doubles were the teams of Jeff Snyder/Collin Smith and Kris Maschari/Jonah Main. The team heads to Port Clinton later today! Also last night at Perkins, our JV tennis team got a win at singles with Korrigan Sanders. Way to go!
 
Congratulations to Thomas Simon & Grace Anderson as they have been nominated by their coaches as our April Athletes of the month. Thomas Simon has had an outstanding start to the baseball season.  He is currently 3-0 with a 1.85 ERA and 49 strikeouts in 30 innings. Thomas also batted .424 for the month of April with 3 doubles, 2 triples, 22 runs scored, and 11 RBI's. Grace Anderson has placed 1st or 2nd in every single individual event she has competed in ALL season/every meet. She is a fierce competitor and an amazing teammate. She steps up and leads the way on challenging practice days and always shows up on the track ready to give everything she has. Thomas and Grace, please stop down to the athletic office to receive your award.
 
Attention all students! It’s that time of the year to nominate a teacher who has made an impact on you! The Milan Rotary & Interact Clubs are sponsoring the Golden Apple Award that goes to a teacher who has not won previously, has been a teacher in the Edison system for 3 years & made a difference. You can nominate ANY teacher from the elementary, middle or high school.  Applications are in the library! Please take a moment to fill out an application before Monday, May 16th!
 
It’s almost Prom week, and the junior class officers are hosting a spirit week. All classes are able to participate in the spirit week, and we hope to see everybody dressed up. Monday is mathlete vs. athlete. Wear your suspenders and glasses or jerseys and basketball shoes. Tuesday is Adam Sandler day. So find your baggy shorts and t-shirts. Wednesday is country vs. country club. Bring your cowboy hats and boots or your tennis skirts and sweater vests. Thursday is Decades day. Pick your favorite decade whether it’s the 70s, 80s, or 90s. Friday is orange and blue day. Finish the week by showing your Charger pride.
