Morning Announcements - Wednesday, September 22, 2021
Happy 1st day of fall! The fall equinox marks the turning point when darkness begins to win out over daylight. Essentially, our hours of daylight—the period of time each day between sunrise and sunset—have been growing slightly shorter each day since the summer solstice in June, which is the longest day of the year.  Then, for the next three months, our hours of daylight will continue to grow shorter.
 
The girls tennis team beat St. Mary’s on Tuesday 4-0. Winning at singles were Alli Vogus, Torri Keyser and Emily Moore. Winning at doubles was the team of Ally Gardner and McKenna Shaffoe. The team is now 8-4 on the season. 
 
The Boys' JV Soccer team beat Norwalk last night by a score of 4-1. Scoring for the Chargers were Jace Jeremay with 2 goals, Nick Strecker and Issac Sloan.  Sam McClester and Caden Shaffoe played exceptionally well offensively and Tyson Wechter was solid in the back line!
 
The Girls golf team finished 5th yesterday at the SBC Tournament. Scoring for the Chargers were:  Ava Grant 96, Meredith Unger 113, Madison Butler 117, Anna Smith 121, Jamie Teed 123 and Mallory Meister 132. The Lady Chargers are back in action for senior night Thursday against Bellevue and Willard.
 
It’s progress report week - make sure all your work is done and turned in!
 
At 5:00, Girls varsity soccer is at Vermilion, and at 6:00, Boys varsity soccer is at Willard.
 
Edison staff is sponsoring the Edison Do RIGHT Breakfast this semester.  If you want to be invited to this delicious breakfast make sure you meet the following criteria: 2.5+ GPA, 2 or fewer absences, 2 or fewer tardies, 2 or fewer detentions and no class removals, Friday Schools or suspensions.  We hope to see all of you there.
 
Attention Leadership retreat students - after announcements please report to the innovation center. 
 
The athletic office is selling pre-sale tickets for the varsity football game at Port Clinton on Friday night.  All pre-sale tickets are $5 while all tickets at the gate will be $7.
 
A reminder to all Juniors: Pre ACT will be given Thursday September 23rd in the cafeteria at 8am. All other students are asked to be quiet while in the halls and freshmen should take all materials with you as you will not be able to go to your locker until after 4th period. 
 
A reminder to those Spanish Club members, your membership dues of $5 is due by this Friday - September 24th! 
 
Any student interested in participating in the annual OCTM Mathematics contest held at the end of the month, please see Mrs. Facemire for information. Registration is due by September 24. 
 
Any students wishing to run for a Key Club officer position should sign-up on the sheet outside of the auditorium.
