Morning Announcements - Monday, September 20, 2021
It’s progress report week - make sure all your work is done and turned in!
At 4:30 today, freshman, Jv & varsity volleyball is home with Western Reserve.
At 5:00 boys varsity soccer is at Huron, and at 7:00, girls varsity soccer is also at Huron.
 
Jaxon Smith, Mikayla Carte, Brook Miller and Isabell Daily to the office.
 
Any student that is interested in joining Key Club, there is an informational sheet outside the office. Key Club dues must be paid in the office by Tuesday, September 28.
 
Attention all students - Ryan is asking you to please check out the lost and found - we already have lots of sweaters, planners, pencil cases and many other things! Lost and found is located in the janitor's room across from the restrooms. 
 
A reminder to all Juniors: Pre ACT will be given Thursday, September 23rd in the cafeteria at 8am. All other students are asked to be quiet while in the halls and freshmen should take all materials with you as you will not be able to go to your locker until after 4th period.
 
A reminder to those Spanish Club members who would like to run for an officer position, your petition is due tomorrow to either Profe or Profesora. 
 
Any student interested in participating in the annual OCTM Mathematics contest held at the end of the month, please see Mrs. Facemire for information. Registration is due by September 24. 
 
Any students wishing to run for a Key Club officer position should sign-up on the sheet outside of the auditorium.
 
The Charger Cross Country teams ran against numerous state ranked teams this weekend at Galion.  Grace Anderson's impressive 4th place finish helped lead the ladies to a 7th place finish.  Aidan Anderson led the guys team to a 13th place finish.  Gavin Mesenburg, Alex Olmstead, Jace Danda & Xander Gearheart all ran their fastest time of the season.  Both teams will be competing in Cloverleaf at the Todd Clark Invitational next Saturday morning.  
 
The Edison Girls soccer team got a big home win on Homecoming weekend over Brookside by a score of 6 to 1. Ruby Knowles got the scoring started early for the Lady Chargers in the first half to tie the game up at 1-1. Amelia Chartrant got the next go ahead score to bring the score to 2 to 1 at halftime. Coming out of halftime the Lady Chargers never looked back as they added four more goals in the second half to extend their lead. That scoring was led by Alaina  Keegan with two goals, Abigail Hearing with one goal, and Ruby Knowles adding one more goal to her total of two on the day. The Lady Chargers are back in action on Monday with an away match at Huron at 7pm.
 
The varsity volleyball team beat St. Mary's 25-20, 25-22, 25-6.  Lydia Woodyard served 16 points with 5 aces and also had 8 kills.  Karin Wlodarsky served 15 points with 5 aces, Oliva Vitaz had 23 assists, and Kira Appeman had 9 kills.
 
The JV volleyball team beat St. Mary's 25-15, 25-16.  Ella Habeck served 14 points.

The Boys Soccer team took down Brookside 11-0. Scoring for the Chargers were Jacob Robinson, Langedan Leimeister-Day, Otto Berckmueller, Jace Jermay, Xander Danner with 4, and Garrett McQuillen with 3! Great job, guys!!
