Morning Announcements - Tuesday, September 14, 2021
It’s Homecoming week! Thank you to everyone who wore their jammies and Christmas morning attire! 
 
Today in the library, you can decorate a Christmas ornament and enjoy some hot chocolate during your study hall. Tomorrow is dress up day! Bring out your Sunday best!
 
Today at 4:00, boys golf is at home with Port Clinton. At 4:30, girls tennis is at home with Willard

The varsity volleyball team beat Ontario 25-11, 25-11, 25-16.  Kira Appeman led the team at the net with 16 kills, followed by Lindsay Roberts with 7 kills, and Lydia Woodyard with 5 kills.  Olivia Wilson and Karin Wlodarsky each had 3 kills.  Olivia Vitaz had 20 assists and served 7 points.  Skylie Hixon had 7 digs and 11 points.
 
The JV volleyball team lost to Ontario 18-25, 22-25.  Ella Habeck served 6 points.  The Freshmen volleyball team lost to Ontario 12-25, 7-25.  Ingrid Berckmeuller had 2 points.
 
The boys varsity soccer team put in a dominating performance last night by beating Old Fort 7-0. Goals scored by  Noah Proctor, Joey Pennell, Jace Jermay, plus Xander Danner and Jacob Robinson both had two! The boys are back in action on Thursday as they battle Oak Harbor at home at 5PM. Come out and support the boys!!
 
The athletic office is selling pre-sale tickets for the Homecoming football game Friday night vs. Woodward.  All pre-sale tickets are $5 while tickets at the gate are $7.  
 
Picture Day at Edison High School is this Wednesday, September 15th, starting at 8 am.  Please listen for announcements Wednesday morning as to when to go get your picture taken.  All students in grades 9 - 12 must get their picture taken even if you are not purchasing a packet.  You can order online beforehand or bring in your picture order form and payment Wednesday morning and give it to the photographer.  There are extra order forms in the office.  If you have any questions, please stop in the office.
 
The French Club is inviting those who are interested in joining should plan on meeting in Madame’s room tomorrow morning at 7:30.
 
Senior members of National Honor Society - don't forget our next meeting will be TODAY afterschool at 2:55 in Mrs. Facemire's room. Please be on time so that our meeting can be as short as possible.
 
Speech and Debate Members - we will be voting for this year's club officers this week on Thursday before school in the Collaboration Center. If candidates are unable to attend, please contact Miss Baughman. 
 
ATTENTION DEBATERS: Mr. Amstutz will meet with Public Forum debaters on Wednesday after school from 3-4:15.  Bring your PRO and CON cases on Baltic States and we will run a mock debate after hi-lighting the Negative cases. Mr. Amstutz will meet with Policy debaters on Thursday after school to go over Negative strategies and set teams. 
 
There is a sign up sheet on the Speech and Debate bulletin Board outside of the main office.  Teams should Sign up for your times to meet with Mr. Amstutz.  You won't be able to compete virtually in the Springboard Series unless you have first met with Mr. Amstutz.
 
All Juniors with at least a 3.75 GPA should have received an invitation in homeroom to your first National Honor Society meeting on Thursday September 16 at 2:55 in Mrs. Facemire's room. We will discuss requirements for membership and exactly what it means to be in NHS. Please be prompt so that I can get you to your after school activities as soon as possible.
 
Congratulations to the cast and crew of With Their Eyes on two powerful and moving performances.  You are all to be commended on taking on a project of this importance in such a limited time frame at such a busy time of year.  Great work.
 
Attention all students wishing to join the EHS Spanish Club!  There will be a meeting at 7:30am on Wednesday, September 15th in the new Collaboration Room. 
 
Help! The cheerleaders are in need of 2 participants from each class to participate in the “jump off” Friday during the homecoming pep rally! Girls & guys are both invited to join in the fun!  A signup sheet is in the library on the counter...please sign up only for yourself! 
 
It's that time Charger Nation ~ Homecoming 2021 will be held this Saturday September 18th!! If you plan to bring a guest to homecoming who is not from Edison, please see Mrs. Davis to pick up a dance form.  This form must be filled out and returned ASAP.  Stop in to 204 if you have any questions. Tickets will be on sale today through Friday at lunch or before and after school in Mrs. Davis’s room - 204! Tickets are $15 per person. 
 
On Thursday September 16th at 7:30, Interact will have its 1st organizational meeting of the year.  Everyone is invited to join.  It’s free to be a member and promises to be an exciting year.  Check your email and signup through the google form. Hope to see you Thursday!
