December - Allyson Gardner
     The Berlin Heights Kiwanis are pleased to announce Allyson Gardner is the December Student of the Month at Edison High School.
     Allyson has been chosen for her contributions to Edison High School and the Berlin Heights and Milan communities.  Allyson’s school activities:  Speech & Debate (Co-President, Historian, Academic All-American, Novice Events Judge); Firelands Challenge Co-President; Mock Trial Outstanding Witness; National Honor Society; served as an elected member of the State Board of Education at Buckeye Girls State; Drama Club; French Club Secretary; Art Club; Publications Yearbook Editor; Tennis (Varsity 1st Doubles); Softball; volunteers at food drives for Second Harvest Food Bank and also at Leramie County Library in Cheyenne, Wyoming; took 1st Place at the University of Wyoming’s World Language Day in the Intermediate German Category; participates in leadership events and children’s church for youth at Church of the Open Door; employed at Cedar Point and Quarry Hill Orchards; 
      Allyson plans to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree at Wittenberg University majoring in English and German with a minor in Education.  She eventually plans to teach English as a foreign language in Germany or finding employment as a German teacher through the Department of Defense and Education Activities.  Allyson is the daughter of George and Amy Gardner of Berlin Heights, Ohio.
