Morning Announcements - Tuesday, January 18, 2022

Today begins the 3rd quarter. Check your schedule to make sure of any changes. 
 
Today at 4, bowling is at Vermilion, and at 6:00, girls basketball is at home with Western Reserve.
 
Our Charger bowlers went up against the Huron Tigers on Thursday night. Finally being back at home didn't matter as both Charger teams lost to the Tigers! Leading the ladies was Piper Ball with 322 and Lidia McQuellen with 297. Leading the guys was Gideon Kellenbarger with 354 and Wyatt Ball with 329.
 
The boys varsity basketball team lost a tough game against a good Huron team Friday night 61-48. The boys were led in scoring by Troy Rutherford, who had 12 points, Kayden Bourget who had 10 points, Jack Brown added 8 points, and Noah Smith had 5 points. The boys return to action this Friday at Oak Harbor and Saturday at #1 state ranked Western Reserve. 
 
The Charger Wrestling Team capped off a successful weekend both at the Varsity and JV level.  The varsity took 4th at the Maumee Bay Classic out of 56 teams.  Leading the way for the Chargers were Abe Hermes and Logan Lloyd who both finished as runner-up in their respective weight class.  Max Hermes took 3rd losing to only the #2 kid in the nation by a score of 6-2.  Jacob Thompson and Jackson Berardi finished 5th.  Remington Bauer rounded out the scoring by placing 6th.  For the JV Aaron Febbo, Quentin Cox, and Walker Cisco went undefeated.  Ricky Miller went 2-1 and Tony Pendergrass went 1-1.  The Chargers will be back in action tomorrow night at home against Fremont Ross.
 
A huge shoutout to everyone who attended the Snow Ball, it was an amazing time for everyone.  Special thanks to the senior gentlemen who rocked the gym!  You know who you are!!

Attention students interested in participating this season in track and field. Please take time today to sign up in Coach Shelley's room and pick up the informational packet and yearly order form. Again students interested in track and field need to sign up today in Coach Shelley's room.
 
Attention all students interested in working outdoors with kids of all ages, Sports Force Parks is hiring a variety of positions for the Spring and Summer seasons. From working on the Field crew to the amenities crew, there is a position that suits everyone. Representatives from Sports Force will be here over the lunch periods on Friday, January 21st. Please stop and see them to see if Sports Force park is the place for you.
 
Speech & Debate Club members - Registration for Saturday's Rhodes tournament closes today, so be sure to sign up on Classroom! The sign up sheet for the State Qualifying Tournament has also been posted. Senor Amstutz will be here today and Miss Baughman will be here tomorrow after school to work with students and go over any questions.
