Morning Announcements - Tuesday, May 17, 2022

Varsity Baseball is at home vs. New Riegel tonight at 5pm.
 
The Lady Chargers showed up ready to give it their all at the SBC meet this past week. The culmination of 19 season best marks resulted in the team's Runner-Up achievement. SBC Champions for the Lady Chargers were Torri Keyser in the 300m Hurdles, Grace Anderson in the 3200m run, and the 4x4 relay of Weilnau, Facemire, Keyser, and Berckmueler. The Chargers had freshmen scoring in 7 open events! Among those were Ingrid Berckmueler who placed 2nd in the 400, 3rd in the 200, and 5th in the 100. Grace Anderson who won the 3200 and placed 2nd in the mile. Maylie Weilnau placed 5th in the 400, and Zoey Corfman placed 8th in the open 800. 
Madi Corapi placed 2nd in both shot and disc. Haley Chaput had an impressive day doubling in the mile and 2 mile and placed 4th and 3rd. In addition to her SBC titles in the 300m hurdles and the 4x4 Torri Keyser placed 4th in high jump and 4th in the 100m hurdles. Peyton Facemire placed 3rd in the open 800. Lydia McQuillen had a near 3 foot PR in shot put and placed 7th. Jillian McDonnel placed 4th in both high jump and long jump. Seniors Isabellah Linder and Jamie Teed came in strong in pole vault finishing 5th and 6th. Lillian Kreglow placed 6th in the 300m hurdles. The girls 4x8 of Chaput, Weilnau, Facemire, and Anderson placed 2nd with an impressive time of 10:11. The 4x1 of Gulett, Keoghan, Teed, and Moon placed 4th with their season best time. The 4x2 of Gullett, Corfman, Weilnau, and Teed placed 5th. Avery Rutherford had a season best performance in disc and made it to finals. We are incredibly proud of our Chargers and look forward to seeing more season best performances as we move on to districts. 
 
The varsity baseball team beat Perkins 5-3.   Xander Danner led the team with 2 hits, including a double, and 3 RBI's.  He also ended a Perkins rally in the bottom of the 7th inning with an amazing diving catch in right field.  Thomas Simon started on the mound and went 3 innings, striking out 7 of the 9 batters he faced.  Blake Simon pitched the final four innings, scattering 7 hits with 2 strikeouts.  Bryce Michaelis and Thomas Simon each hit singles.
 
The Lady Chargers softball team tallied 20 hits against Perkins beating the Pirates 19-7.  Audrey Linder, Kira Appeman, Reagan King, Kalli Quillen and Elena McCord all managed multiple hits for the visiting Chargers.  Kira Appeman led off the game with a first pitch home run while Kalli Quillen hit a grand slam and had a remarkable diving catch in center field.  Audrey LInder, Isabella Wilson and Appeman all added doubles as well.  The girls take on Colonel Crawford in the district semifinals Wednesday in New Riegel.
 
Any boys interested in playing on the high school golf team this fall please attend a golf meeting in Mr. Ceccoli's room right after school Wednesday, the 18th, to sign up and get a fall schedule.
 
Attention Freshmen, Sophomores & Juniors: Please check your email for a ballot to elect next year's class officers and Student Council members. You have until the end of the school day on Thursday to vote. Election results will be announced on Friday.
 
Students who will be attending EHOVE next school year must return their chomebooks, chargers and cases by the end of the school year.  ou may turn these items into Ms. Mehlow in the high school office.  If these items are not returned, you will be charged $225.   If you have any questions, please call or stop by the high school office.
 
Today is the last day to audition for the Edison Show Choir. You just need to sign up for a 5 minute slot on Sign Up Genius.   All the information and links are on the blue Audition Show Choir flyer.  If you have any questions, you can contact Ms Notley.
 
Reminder: ALL TRACK ATHLETES - please turn in your envelope and $10 to Torri Keyser or Gabe Rang by Friday. If you have any questions, please see Torri or Gabe.
 
Attention all students! Now through Friday, May 20th, TLC is collecting pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. There will be two blue jugs, one for the guys and one for the girls that will be located in the library. If you have pop tabs -  please consider bringing the tabs to the library. Let's see who can fill up the bottle faster!
