Morning Announcements - Thursday, May 12, 2022
At 4:45, JV baseball is at Margaretta, Varsity softball is home with Huron, and Varsity baseball is home with Margaretta.

The boys tennis team beat St. Mary’s on Wednesday 4-1. Winning at singles were Noah Proctor and Jonah Main. Winning at doubles for their final match on the home courts were the senior teams of Otto Berckmueller/Kris Maschari and Jeff Snyder/Collin Smith. The team ended the regular conference season with a 9-5 record. Congrats to the team on a great season! The team participates today in the Sectional Tournament in Port Clinton. The JV tennis players had a successful outing last evening against St. Mary’s! Winning at singles were Devin Mclaren and Korrigan Sanders. Both Devon and Korrigan will be playing in the JV tournament next Tuesday in Port Clinton.
 
The varsity baseball team improved to 14-7 on the season with a 10-1 win against Lucas.  Carson Smith was dominant on the mound, pitching a complete game 5 hitter with 5 strikeouts.  Xander Danner and Thomas Simon each had 3 hits to lead the offense.  Danner, Hayden Fry, and Noah Smith each hit doubles and Clint Finnen tripled.  Bryce Michaelis and Dominic Dymond each had two hits, and Max Hoover singled.  The team plays Margaretta at home in their final SBC game of the year.
 
Tuesday night the Lady Chargers fell to Margaretta by a score of 8-1. Kalli Quillen earned the rbi by a squeeze bunt to score Kira Appeman. Hits came from Appeman, Quillen, Audrey Linder, Olivia Vitaz, Reagan King, and Sophia Guerra.
 
In action last night, the Lady Chargers fell to Oak Harbor by a score of 16-4. They’ll be at home tonight for senior night with Huron at 4:45. Come out and support.

Congratulations Evan Gassman on your spotlight in the Norwalk Reflector. Evan has started his own company and is writing a memoir on his business success. Wish this entrepreneur a profitable career. 
 
It’s Prom week! Thank you to everyone who participated. Don’t forget tomorrow is orange and blue day. Prom is this Saturday May 14th. Vote for 2022 Prom King and Queen during check-in at the dance this Saturday. Appetizers with veggies, cheese, crackers, pretzels, cheese dip, and salad bar will be ready from 7:00-7:30, dinner starts at 7:30, which will include a pasta dish and sandwiches. Beverages and cookies are included as well. The junior class officers thank everyone who dressed up today! It’s been a great week!
 
Attention all students! Now through Friday May 20th, TLC is collecting pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. There will be two blue jugs, one for the guys and one for the girls that will be located in the library. If you have pop tabs -  please consider bringing the tabs to the library. Let's see who can fill up the bottle faster! 
 
You still have this week to nominate your favorite teacher, that teacher who made a difference! The Milan Rotary & Interact clubs are sponsoring the Golden Apple Award that goes to a teacher who has not won previously, has been a teacher in the Edison system for 3 years. You can nominate ANY teacher from the elementary, middle or high school.  Applications are in the library!
