Morning Announcements - Monday, October 11, 2021
Happy Birthday today to Shalyn Stutsman, Matthew Huff and Garrett Cole!
 
At 5:00 today, boys varsity soccer is at Clyde. At 5:30, JV & varsity volleyball is at Bellevue.  JV Football is at home at 5:30 with Oak Harbor and at 7:00, girls varsity soccer is at Clyde.
 
The cross country teams ran a two-mile tune up race Saturday at New London. Bryce Michaelis led the boys team with Aidan Anderson also finishing in the top 15. The girls brought home the championship scoring 29 points, beating the next closest team by an impressive 47 points! Grace Anderson finished runner up. Runners finishing in the top 15 included Peyton Facemire, Kennedy Baker, Zoey Corfman, Maylie Weilnau, Mary Anderson, Ava Miller and Lindsay Sneider. The teams would love to have you cheer them on this coming weekend at the SBC meet in Tiffin. The girls will be going for an unprecedented 6th straight title at 11:15 and the boys will go off at 11:45. Hope to see you there!
 
The girls tennis team participated in the Sectional Tournament over the weekend.  Winning the Sectional championship for the first time in the girls programs history was the team of Alli Vogus and Torri Keyser. Alli and Torri will next participate in the District Tournament on Wednesday at Port Clinton. Way to go ladies and best of luck!!
 
The Edison Girls Soccer team got a hard fought road win over Vermilion by a score of 2 to 1. Down 1 to 0 at halftime the Lady Chargers came out fired up and ready to play. Only four minutes into the second half Megan Coleman put the ball in the back of the net to tie the game up 1 to 1. Only five minutes later Julianna Burnham put the go ahead goal in the net to take the lead 2 to 1. Excellent defensive play  by Haley Chaput, Alaina Keegan, Isabella Sanabria, Lauren Craig, and Keeper Brienna Marcy sealed up the win for the Lady Chargers. The soccer team will be back in action on Monday with an away match at Clyde at 7pm. 
 
The varsity volleyball team beat Willard 25-23, 25-17, 25-22.  Kira Appeman led the team with 20 kills, followed by Lydia Woodyard and Lindsay Roberts with 5 kills each.  Roberts led the team in serving with 15 points.  Olivia Vitaz had 31 assists, Karin Wlodarsky had 9 digs, Olivia Wilson had 4 kills, Kalli Quillen had 4 digs, and Natalie Leimeister served 5 points and had 2 digs.
 
On Thursday, the freshmen volleyball team beat Willard 19-25, 25-18, 25-20.  Ingrid Berckmeuller served 18 points.

If you are actively involved in Boy Scouting - an Eagle Scout or involved in Girl Scouts - a Gold Star, would you please see Mrs. Davis at this time. 
 
A reminder that Lead 2 Hope will meet tomorrow morning at 7:30 in the Innovation Center. 
 
There will be a freshman class meeting with a Jostens representative today at 1:30 pm in the auditorium. The seniors will be meeting with the Jostens rep at 2:25 pm. in the auditorium.
 
TLC is kicking off Socktober with a sock drive. This will be a competition between all of the homerooms. The winning homeroom will receive apple cider and donuts. These socks will be donated to organizations that are in contact with people in need- please be sure to bring in NEW socks!!!  Friday October 22nd will be crazy sock day. This is also the last day that we will collect socks. Please try to make sure to bring them in by the day. However; if you bring them in the following week we will get them to where they need to be.
 
TLC is also hosting a color run October 17th - to participate you must bring in a pair of socks for a donation. Try to make an effort to be there- we will make it as fun as possible! The more people there are - the better it will be 
 
Attention Set, Light and Sound crew for the fall production of Spirit of Christmas. We will work tonight from 6:30 - 7. Please let Mrs. Facemire know if you can not make it.

Interact will meet Wednesday October 13th at 7:00pm in the Innovation room. Please make plans to attend if your a member or if you’d still like to join, stop by the library and see Mrs. Moyer
