Morning Announcements - Thursday, November 17, 2022
Attention all EHS students!
Are you interested in silly stringing a teacher?  Eating pumpkin pie as fast as you can?  Playing fun holiday-themed games? Or participating in a dodgeball tournament? If so, Dodging Hunger is for you!  Dodging Hunger is a donation drive for our local Salvation Army. You can bring in cans, boxes, or containers of food or other household items to help people in our community this holiday season.   All students must bring in an item to get a ticket to attend the assembly next Tuesday!  If you would like to silly string a teacher, bring in items to be entered in a drawing for a teacher of your choice - the more items you donate the more tickets you earn, and the more likely you will get chosen to silly string a teacher. You can sign up for the various minigames with Mrs. Seel by bringing a donated item to the library before school or in room 607 throughout the day and after school.  The games include bobble-head musical chairs, a pie-eating contest, turkey baster keepy-uppy, and turkey t-ball.
For the annual Dodgeball Tournament:

There will be 8 dodgeball teams of 6 people and each team member MUST bring in FIVE cans to participate (30 cans per team).  If you don’t have a team, don’t worry, there will be one open team filled with 6 individual players.  The winning team will get to go head-to-head against the staff's fierce team.  All sign-ups will be on a first-come, first-served basis - SO BRING YOUR DONATIONS IN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.  Donations and sign-ups will start Wednesday morning and go until Tuesday morning of next week - but remember sign ups are first come first serve.  Bring your items to the library before school or to Mrs. Seel's room (607) throughout the school day or after school.

Attention all track athletes not in a winter sport. Out of season workouts will begin Monday the 28th after school in the weight room. This is the Monday we return from Thanksgiving break.   Please be dressed and ready to go at 3pm in the weight room. If you have any questions, please see Coach Shelley.

Congratulations to the Firelands Challenge Team for another regular season victory in Round 4.  Edison scored 64 points to defeat Lakota who scored 25 points and Port Clinton who scored 10 points. After Round 4, Edison remains in first place with  239 points.  The team will enter Round 5 on November 29th with a 46-point lead over Bellevue and Perkins who are tied for second place.

A HUGE thank you to the Interact members who helped last night with Pizza Palooza and to everybody who purchased tickets to the event.  Your generosity and willingness to help others does not go unnoticed.  This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and it would not have been a success without the help of each and every one of you!  Don't forget to sign up for our upcoming events in December if you haven't already!

Attention Speech and Debate competitors that are competing this weekend at the Mentor Tournament- the bus leaves from Edison High School at 6:30 promptly.  Make sure you dress warm and are on time!

Reminder  that French Club will be ice skating this Saturday at North Rec Ice Rink on Duffey Street in Elyria. Skating is from 1 to 3 pm and all are welcome!  Skating is $4 with an extra $3 fee if you need to rent skates. See madame for more information.
