Morning Announcements - Monday, September 19, 2022
The boys golf team shot their best 18 hole score of the year at Erie County Invitational at Plum Brook Country Club. Leading the way for the Chargers was Korrigan Sanders with a 90. That was followed up with Parker Campbell's 96. Hayden Lewis contributed with a 100. Aaron Febbo rounded out the scores with a 102. The 387 team score was good for 5th place. Next up for the team is a nine hole match vs Sandusky on Wednesday.
 
The Girls soccer team improved their record to 5-2 with a win against Brookside with a score of 5-0. Brienna Marcy and the defense recorded their 3rd shutout of the season. Scoring for the Chargers were Amelia Chartrant with a season high 4 goals, and Abby Hearing with 1. Assists came from Alaina Keegan with 3 and Julie Wilgrube with 2.
 
Both of the Charger Cross Country teams finished 6th place at the Galion Cross Country Festival on Saturday. Grace Anderson finished in 4th and Maylie Weilnau 40th to lead the girls. Bri Leimbach ran her PR. Jackson Michaelis finished 11th and Kellen McDonnell 16th to lead the boys. Gavin Mesenburg and Logan Facemire ran their PR's.  Both teams will run at Cy Hewit Park in the Todd Clark Cloverleaf Invitational on Saturday morning.

The varsity volleyball team beat St. Mary's on Saturday by scores of 20-25, 25-14, 25-16, 22-25, 15-9. Kalli Quillen had 22 assists, 7 digs, 13 points and 4 aces. Karin Wlodarsky had 11 kills, 18 digs, 4 aces, 13 points.  Ella Habeck chipped in 9 kills, followed by Jorja Byington with 8 kills and Olivia Wilson with 7 kills.  Natalie Leimeister had 14 assists, and Ellis Kramb had 9 digs and 11 points.
 
The boys varsity soccer team turned in another stellar performance Thursday night. The team defeated Oak Harbor 2 nil. The no goal patrol ensured a clean sheet for goal keeper Samuel McClester.The defense was anchored by Langdon Day, Noah Proctor Jace Jeremy and Zack Flory and Nick Strecker. Goals were scored by Jose Serma Amaya who now has 6 goals in the season and Jonah Main who has scored 3 goals. Well done lads.
 
The Edison Drama Club will be hosting an Ice Cream Social after school on Tuesday, September 27th from 3-3:30 or so. This will be taking place before rehearsal for those involved in the Peter Rabbit Cast. Everyone is welcome to come join us and enjoy some ice cream!
 
If you are interested in joining Key Club please pay the $10 dues by Wednesday, September 21. The first meeting will be Thursday, September 22 at 7:40 am in the auditorium. We will elect Key Club officers at the meeting. If you are interested in running for office please sign-up in the library.
 
If you would like your name removed from the Homecoming Ballot this year, please see Mrs Davis in room 204 no later than Tuesday, September 20th.

Reminder to all senior athletes and senior band members, be sure to complete the Most Inspirational teacher night google form that was emailed to you.  If you wish to participate, your google form is due by Tuesday, September 20th.
 
Attention cast of Edison Light, we will be starting rehearsal at 3:15 today due to a Drama Council meeting.

This is the last week to buy pink-out apparel to support Mrs. Moyer and all those in our community in their fight against cancer.  Short-sleeved t-shirts are $15, long-sleeved are $19, hooded sweatshirts are $26, and rally towels are $6.  Please see the link in the Class of 2024 Instagram account, or see the email sent from Mrs. Wobser last week. Orders must be placed by Friday, Sept. 23rd by 5 p.m.  Items can be picked up Thursday, Oct. 13, from 5-7 p.m. and Friday, Oct. 14th after school from 3:00-4:30 in the high school cafeteria.
