Morning Announcements for Friday, January 20th

The Charger Café will serve Charger Burger OR Daily Grab & Go, OR Salad Bar, Romaine salad, fresh veggie with hummus, assorted fruit and milk for lunch today.

The weather for today is cloudy, windy and much colder with snow showers and a high of 37.

Today’s trivia question is: Which three-digit phone number is going out of service for millions of Americans?

Tonight is Fun Night for EMS students in grades 6 thru 8. The hours are 6:30 – 8:30 pm and admission is $3.  Bring extra money for dodge ball and the 3-point shoot.  Wear your tennis shoes and school appropriate clothing.  Leave your cell phones at home.  If you do bring them, student council reps will check them in for you.  You will then get them back at 8:30.

The 7th grade Lady Chargers lost to Port Clinton by a score of 37 to 17.  Tessa Moore led the team in scoring with 7 points.  Lariah McMinn added 4, followed by Aria Hayward and Peyton Werner with 2 apiece.  Stella Bloom and Kaydence Williams each added a foul shot.

The 8th grade Lady Chargers sealed the victory against Port Clinton, 42 to 23.   The team was led by Emmie Leber with 23 points and 7 rebounds.  Jade Ziegelhofer followed with 5, including and exciting buzzer beater 3 at the end of the 3rd quarter.  Kaylee Long and Macari Harris each added 4, and Mallorie Jones, Peyton Bissell, and Kendall Kryger had 2 apiece.

The 7th Grade Boys Basketball Team played their best game of the season at Port Clinton and took Port Clinton to overtime.  Unfortunately, the Chargers just came up a bit short and lost 49-46.  Kyle Robinson played courageous defense. Leading the Chargers in scoring was Wesley Seel with 23 points, Kyle Robinson netting 13 points, Weston Hoover chipping in 7 points.  Kaden Mees sparked the team off the bench by scoring 4 points.

The answer for today’s trivia question is that the three-digit phone number that is going out of service is 411, which is directory assistance.

We would like to close with this quote from author Jean Hersey: “January is the month for dreaming.”

Thank you and enjoy your day!
