Morning Announcements - Friday, September 30, 2022
Today is Friday, September 30, 2022 and it's a GREAT Day to be a Charger!!!

Last night the no goal patrol put in a stellar performance by not allowing a goal against Willard. Isaac Sloane, Noah Proctor,  Jace Jeremy and Langdon Leimister Day along with clean sheet goal keeper Sam McAlester put in a stellar effort. Goal scorers Alex Davidson  put the team ahead early with a strategic penalty kick Jonah Main hit a lazer shot to continue the offensive push and Jose Serma provided the 2 goals to secure the win. Great stuff.
 
The Lady Chargers Soccer Team played a very good Perkins team to a 0-0 draw last night during Senior Night. The team's 5th shutout came from tough defense led by Seniors: Morgan Moon, Jillian McDonnell and Bree Marcy. Shoutout to Seniors Iszie Sanabria and Julianna Burnham for their good midfield play! Way to go Seniors!!
 
If you are interested in wrestling this season please sign-up in the athletic office by Friday, October 7.  Coach Hermes will be having a meeting with all interested athletes near the end of October to review items for the upcoming season.
 
Attention any girl in grades 9-12 interested in playing basketball this winter. There will be a signup sheet located in the Athletic Office Tuesday through Friday this week. Please be sure to stop in and sign up by Friday. Any questions, see Coach Kurt
 
Volley for the Brave volleyball game against Huron is taking place Tuesday October 4th at Edison High School.  The event starts at 4:30pm, JV game starts at 5:00pm.
Bake sale, basket raffle, and 50/50.  All proceeds benefit The Maxton W. Soviak Memorial Foundation.  Winners will be drawn during the varsity game.  You do not need to be present to win.  See Sara Wilson for more details
 
Seniors boys can sign up in the library to participate in cheerleading at the powder puff game.  Cheerleading will involve jumps, the fight song, sideline cheers, and of course leapfrog. Old cheer uniforms will not be handed out this year. Instead Edison clothes, clothes that are a majority of orange, blue, and white, skirts, t-shirts, tutus, etc. are allowed. On the Sunday practice clothing details will be further discussed.
 
Attention Seniors in National Honor Society. Our October meeting will be after school on Tuesday October 4 in Mrs. Facemire's room. All current and potential senior members need to attend. Please let Mrs. Facemire know if you have any questions.

If you plan to bring a guest from another high school, please be sure to pick up a visitor form from Mrs Davis or the office.
 
Homecoming tickets will go on sale Monday, October 3rd and be on sale through Friday, October 7th for $15.00 during all lunch modules.  See Mrs Davis with any questions.
 
Please go to your Edison email and vote for your Homecoming court representatives.  Voting will close at the end of the lunch modules today.
 
Attention all Students and Staff Members: Make sure to  participate in the Homecoming Spirit Week starting on Monday, October 3. 
 
Monday is Monochrome Monday; wear an outfit of all the same colors!!
 
The girls tennis team beat Huron on Thursday 4-1. Winning for the team were Alli Vogus and  Ivy Kluding at singles and the doubles teams of Delaney Lococo/Sara Gates and Lily Kreglow/Maddi Kuhl. It was a great win on a night that we honored our Seniors Alli Vogus and Delaney Lococo. Way to go ladies on a great night!! 

Last night the JV tennis team continued their dominant streak against Huron and got wins from everyone again! Aviera Hamilton and Rowen Smith struck first, but Isabella Wilson with Chloe Dials finished their match shortly after. Let's finish the season strong next week!
 
The varsity volleyball team lost to Oak Harbor 13-25, 13-25, 25-21, 23-25.  Kalli Quillen led the team with 22 assists and 18 digs.  Taylor Moore and Karin Wlodarsky also had 18 digs each.  Ella Habeck had 9 kills, followed by Jorja Byington with 7 kills and Olivia Wilson and Dana Preston with 6 kills apiece.  Natalie Leimeister had 11 assists and led the team with 8 points.
 
The JV volleyball team beat Oak Harbor 25-19, 20-25, 25-17.  Stella Brown served 12 points.
