Morning Announcements - Tuesday, June 1, 2021

Congratulations to Dylan O'Dell and Caleb Bell for qualifying for the State meet this weekend in Columbus. Dylan will be competing in the high jump and Caleb will be competing in the 400m dash. Way to go boys. 
 
A reminder to all track athletes the banquet is tonight at 6pm in the gym. Also, anyone finished for the season needs to turn in your uniform ASAP to Coach Shelley or Coach Caponi.
 
Congratulations to the following individuals for earning a spot on the 2021-2022 Firelands Challenge team.Nadia Cantelli, Brenna Chasney, Jeff Esser, Evelyn Gall, Allyson Gardner, Brienna Marcy, Marina Moore, Morgan Moon, Noah Proctor, and Jamie Teed. We will have our first mandatory meeting on Tuesday, June 1 at 2:50 pm in Mrs. Facemire’s room (room 401). Please see Mrs. Roan or Mrs. Facemire with any questions.
 
The varsity baseball team beat Colonel Crawford 6-5 in an 8 inning thriller to win the district championship.  After spotting the Eagles 3 early runs, the Chargers began to chip away at the lead.  Luke Bissell had an RBI single in the 4th and Noah Smith followed with 2 RBI single in the 5th to tie the game.  Clint Finnen singled in the 6th to give the team their first lead at 4-3.  After Colonel Crawford tied the game in the bottom of the 6th, the Chargers took the lead for good by scoring 2 runs in the top of the 8th inning.  Joe Pennell induced a bases loaded ground  out to seal the win.  Blake Simon led the team with 3 hits and was also outstanding on the mound, giving up 6 hits and no earned runs in 5 innings.  Clint Finnen, Thomas Simon, Luke Bissell, and Xander Danner each had 2 hits. The team plays in the regional semi-finals on Thursday at Elida at 2 pm.
 
Any girl interested in golfing this fall should come to a meeting after school on Wednesday to meet with Coach Kelble in the cafeteria.
 
Shout out to Jon Cook for arranging Friday’s treats at lunch time! Thank you for spreading kindness!

Attention all students attending EHOVE next school year, you will need to return your chrome books to the library before the end of the day on Thursday June 3rd.  Please have your name on them along with the charger.
