Morning Announcements - Thursday, May 21, 2026

The EMS cafeteria will be serving a toasted cheese sandwich, or Daily Grab & Go, tomato soup, carrots & dip, fruit choice, and milk for lunch today.

Today’s trivia question is: How much did the world’s largest carrot weigh?

We will now announce the winners of today’s Calendar Raffle. Today’s May 21 package A is a Milan Museum Package.The winner is Margie
White and this ticket was sold by Silas Watson. Today’s May 21 package B is a Milan Museum Package. The winner of this prize is Cathy Schaffer and the ticket was sold by Emmalee Seville.

Any 8th grade boy or girl interested in going out for the high school golf teams please see Mr. Fischer in the fifth grade hallway to pick up a schedule this week.

If you're a 5th-grade student interested in trying out for the 6th-grade academic challenge team for next school year, please complete the Google form emailed to you by Friday, May 22. If you have questions, see Mrs. Fisher in 6th grade.   

Student Council 8th grade representatives hosting the 8th Grade Dance to be held on Wednesday, June 3 from 6:30 -8:30 pm in the cafeteria. We are asking that the girls wear a school appropriate dress, skirt, or nice slacks. Boy’s attire would be nice shorts, or pants with a polo shirt or button down shirt. Sandals, flip-flops or crocs are permitted at the dance.

Attention 8th Graders!
Sound Dimension Show Choir Auditions are Tuesday May 26 and Wednesday, May 27. Auditions include a vocal and dance audition. All students should attend the dance audition Tuesday, May 26 from 6:00–7:00 PM in the auditorium and sign up in the music hallway for an individual vocal audition time. Whether you are an experienced performer or trying something new, show choir is a great opportunity to sing, dance, perform, travel, and make unforgettable memories.  More information is available in the music hallway. Email Mrs. Wheeler with any questions.

On Tuesday May 26, there will be a short meeting from 2:30-2:45pm in the Middle School Cafeteria for any current 8th grade girls who are interested in playing high school girls soccer next school year.  There will also be a parents meeting on Thursday May 28 starting at 6:15pm in the High School Library for parents of future or current high school girls soccer players.  Coach Fry will be at both meetings to go over important information and answer any questions there may be.  

The High School Girls Soccer Program will also be hosting a Girls Youth Soccer Camp this summer for girls who are entering grades 2-8 for the 2026-2027 school year.  The camp will run Tuesday July 28th through Thursday July 30th from 5:30-7:30pm each night.  The camp will be led by the high school coaching staff and players.  Registration Fee is $40 and includes a t- shirt. The registration form and information have been sent to all eligible students and their parents via Final Forms.

As the weather gets warmer, please remember to follow the school dress code.
Tops must cover the mid-section at all times, even when arms are raised. Tops and dresses must have sleeves and appropriately cover cleavage. Shorts, skirts, and dresses must extend to the tip of your fingers when arms are outstretched at your sides. Students not in dress code will be asked to call home for more appropriate clothing. Repeated dress code violations will result in detentions. See Ms. Parker if you have any questions.

The trivia answer is that the world’s largest carrot, grown in 2016, weighed over 22 pounds!
