Entrepreneur Day at Edison Middle School is back!!

This event has raised over $28,000 dollars to various charities and individuals over the years. This year all money raised will be presented to The Maxton Soviak Memorial Foundation. The money will be used to help secure a service dog for a veteran in need. Please help make this Entrepreneur Day the best ever by allowing your middle school child the opportunity to bring in money on Wednesday, May 25th. Our 5th graders are grouped into teams and have been working hard. They are eager to see how much they can earn with their creative products and ideas. There will be lots of great crafts, food, games and raffles in the Middle School gym from 12:15-2:15 on Wednesday, May 25th. The public is also welcome to come in and purchase the items that are being sold. Come support our students and a great cause!

Edison Facilities Community Survey Results:

Many of your recall taking a survey a few weeks ago regarding the future of our facilities. Over 1089 community members responded to the survey and we were able to provide the findings to our board and Facilities Advisory Committee. You told us that the most important factors to consider for the future of our facilities were (in order of importance): 1. providing the best learning/teaching environments; 2. overall cost of the project; 3. Finding a plan the community could support. The topline survey results can be found here https://research.zarca.com/zRMx/Bar_graph.aspx?share=ZXR2R5N6G

Edison School Board Approves Facilities Master Plan

As many of you may know, we have been discussing the future of our facilities since before the pandemic. We recently convened a Facility Advisory Committee made up of local residents. Last week, this Committee voted to recommend building a new PreK – 5th grade facility on the site of the current middle school in Berlin Heights and construct a 6th – 8th grade building at the site of the High School in Milan Township, while making relevant renovations to Edison High School. At the April 19 th Edison School Board meeting, the Board unanimously voted to move forward with the Master Plan recommended by the Facility Advisory Committee. Next, we plan to convene a finance committee that would discuss funding options and the potential of a bond issue come November.
