Morning Announcements for Wednesday, April 30th

The Lady Chargers beat Vermilion last night at their final home meet, 64-55. Myah Handshoe led the way, winning the discus with a lifetime PR of 81' 5" and was second in shot put. Ingrid Berckmueller won the 400m run and was on the winning 4x1 (Kryger, Stover, Berckmueller, Corfman) and 4x4 (Berckmueller, Anderson, Risner, Corfman) . The ladies swept the 800 and the mile. In the 800, Lily Risner was 1st,  Aili Corfman was 2nd, and Julianna Johnson was 3rd. Grace Anderson was first in the mile, Juianna Johnson 2nd, and Ava Gardner 3rd. Autumn Krieg was the champion in both the 100m hurdles and 300m hurdles. Zoey Corfman was 2nd in the 400m. Joy Jordan was 2nd in the pole vault. Kendal Kryger was 3rd in the 100m. Sophie Baker took 3rd in the long jump. The 4x8 also finished first place (Anderson, Risner, A. Corfman, Gardner). The ladies compete again this Friday at the Margaretta Invite.

Morning Announcements for Tuesday, April 29th

The Lady Chargers won 17-3 last night vs Margaretta.  Peyton Taylor and Ivy Kluding each had 3 hits.  Stella Brown, Peyton Bissell, and Macari Harris added 2 hits apiece.  Taylor added 4 RBI, and Abby Cloud added 3.  Abby Cloud picked up the win, going 5 innings, striking out 7.    The JV team also had a big win last night, 13-3 over Margaretta.  Ella Rogers had 1 hit, 2 RBI, and 2 runs scored.  Nevea Yamanouchi, Scarlett Bennett, Mabel Stoll, Gracie Rang, Lariah McMinn, and Adison Wechter all added a hit apiece.  Jordyn Perry picked up the win, going 3 innings, striking out 3.

Morning Announcements for Thursday, April 24th

The varsity baseball team beat Willard 10-0 in 5 innings.  Abe Hermes pitched a complete game 1-hitter with 9 strikeouts.  He was also 2 for 2 at the plate with a double and 2 RBIs.  Bryson Wittmer had a big day at the plate with 2 home runs and 5 RBI.  Bryson led off the game with a solo home run and followed that up with a grand slam in the 3rd inning.  Chaz Smith had 2 hits, including a double.

The softball team won at Willard 22-2 on Wednesday evening.  Navea Yamanouchi, Mabel Stoll, and Scarlett Bennett had 2 hits each.  Stoll added 4 RBI while Peyton Bissell added 3.  Abby Cloud and Jordyn Perry had a combined 7 strikeouts.

Morning Announcements for Wednesday, December 4th

The Boy's bowling team had a rough start to the match but rallied back to cap off the match with a win! Hayden Lewis led the way for the Chargers with a high game of 204! Kaden Mees had a great night in the lanes with a 159-151 for a 310! The Chargers took down the Polar Bears with a total of 2,062-1353.  On the Girl's side, it was a nail-biter all the way to the end, but there's room for improvement. Rory Conrad led the way with scores of 162 and 145 for a total of 307. Leah Gill was second highest for the girls with scores of 145 and 138 for a total of 283. The Polar Bears topped the Chargers with a total of 1534-1446.

April Student of the Month

The Berlin Heights Kiwanis are pleased to announce Kaira Gulett is the April Student of the Month at Edison High School.

     

Kaira has been chosen for her contributions to Edison High School and the Berlin Heights and Milan communities. Kaira’s activities:  National Honor Society; Spanish Honor Society; Choir and Choir Council; Drama Club and Drama Council (President, Historian, Secretary); Show Choir; Student Council; Interact Club; Key Club; Spanish Club; Chess & Board Game Club (Secretary); EHS morning announcement crew member; Cross Country (Captain); Track; honor roll all 4 years; volunteering at various events including the Berlin Heights Basket Festival and the Milan Melon Festival.

 

Kaira will be attending Marietta College to pursue her bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts in Theater for Performance.  She hopes to use her degree to work professionally in New York to help others find their love for theater.   Kaira would also like to perform on stage as well.  Kaira is the daughter of Dawn Braden of Milan and Thomas Gulett of Norwalk, Ohio.

May Student of the Month

The Berlin Heights Kiwanis are pleased to announce Cyrus Finnen is the May Student of the Month at Edison High School.

     

Cyrus has been chosen for his contributions to Edison High School and the Berlin Heights and Milan communities.  Cyrus’s activities: National Honor Society; Football (1st Team All Ohio, 1st Team All District; 1st Team Conference, Player of the Year in districts and Conference Player of the Year); Wrestling (Conference and Sectional Champion).

 

Cyrus plans to attend the University of Mount Union, majoring in Finance as well as be part of their football team.  Cyrus is the son of Jeff and Shelly Finnen of Berlin Heights, Ohio.
