Morning Announcements for Thursday, October 3rd

The Edison Girls Soccer team scored a victory on Senior Night Tuesday over Sandusky by a score of 8-0.  Amelia Chartrant led the scoring attack with 5 goals scored on the evening.  Fellow seniors Lanie Keegan and Ingrid Berckmueller each scored a goal of their own, and Stella Bloom also scored for Edison.  Kellyn Ritchie led the team with 2 assists on the evening, and Ella Rogers earned the shutout in goal with 3 saves.  A special shout-out goes to the five seniors (Taylor Geiger, Rachel Frederick, Ingrid Berckmueller, Lanie Keegan, and Amelia Chartrant).  This is a special group of seniors whose impact and influence will be felt in this program for many years to come.  The next match for the Lady Chargers is Thursday, October 10th at home vs Mansfield Christian.

Morning Announcements for Wednesday, October 2nd

The varsity volleyball team beat Vermilion 25-11, 25-14, 25-14.  Jorja Byington led the team with 9 kills, followed by Macari Harris and Dana Preston with 5 kills each.  Taylor Wlodarsky had 20 assists, 11 digs, 4 kills, 4 points, and 3 aces.  Paige McFadden added 11 assists, 6 points, and 2 aces.  Taylor Moore led the defense with 16 digs, followed by Ella Booth with 14 digs, and Stella Brown with 7 digs. The JV volleyball team beat Vermilion 25-16, 25-12.  Peyton Bissell served 9 points and Mabel Stoll had 7 points.  The freshmen volleyball team beat Vermilion 26-24, 25-20.  Hadley Goodwin served 13 points.

Morning Announcements for Tuesday, October 1st

Are you interested in current events and policymaking? Then make sure to mark your calendars to attend the policy debate meeting after school on Wednesday in the Innovation Room to learn how to compete in debate.  Mr. Amstutz will bring materials for this year's policy debate topic and go over the pros and cons of this year's debate topic! Speech and Debate is a great activity to learn how to speak persuasively and looks great on your college resume!

Attention National Honor Society seniors - This is just a friendly reminder that our October meeting will be tomorrow, October 1st after school in Mrs. Facemire's room. We will need to decide on a service project for the year. PLEASE COME WITH IDEAS!!!  All seniors, including potential inductees, need to attend.

September Student of the Month

The Berlin Heights Kiwanis are pleased to announce that Maylie Weilnau is the September Student of the Month at Edison High School.
     
Maylie has been chosen for her contributions to Edison High School and the Berlin Heights and Milan communities.  Maylie’s school activities:  Co-Captain of the Firelands Challenge team; Spanish Club; National Honor Society President; Sources of Strength peer leader; Interact Club; Key Club; cross country (SBC All-Academic Team, Athlete of the Month); track (Athlete of the Month); Student of the Quarter in Math, Science, and Language Arts. Maylie also holds multiple officer roles in 4-H including camp counselor; currently an intern at Fisher Titus Medical Center; was a tour guide at Thomas Edison’s Birthplace Museum; and mentored 7 th grade students from area schools through the Impact Program. Maylie plans to go to college majoring in exercise science and then going into the healthcare field with the hopes of becoming a physical therapist. Maylie is the daughter of Heath and Carla Weilnau of Monroeville, Ohio.
