Morning Announcements for Friday, January 24th

School personnel recently named Edison High School students “Students of the Quarter”.  The students were:  Emma Lesniak (Art); Colin Butler, Julieta De Loera Figueroa (EHOVE); Christina Arnold (Family & Consumer Science); Jordan Lewis (Health/Phys Ed); Ivy Kluding, Hadley Goodwin, Annabelle Seville, William Stargel (Language Arts); Hallee Hatmaker, Eli Hermes, Caleb Fansler, Isabella Kerpics (Math); Ricky Oliver, Addison Chambers (Music); Savannah Reiter, Stella Brown, Mya Koch (Science); Kellyn Ritchie, Nicole Vesely, Eli Hermes (Social Studies); Trevor Leimeister (Technology); Ilah Reynolds, Nicole Vesely, Lani Tessaro (World Language).
 
The students received certificates of merit to acknowledge their accomplishments.
 
The “Student of the Quarter” was initiated in 1990 by the Edison faculty and members of the Ohio Association of Public School Employees (OAPSE).  The purpose of the program is to honor and acknowledge students who achieve significant success in various academic fields.

Morning Announcements for Thursday, January 23rd

The Edison varsity girls team picked up a big non-conference win over New London yesterday, 57-42.  Ivy Kluding paced the Chargers with 21 points and three steals, followed by Stella Brown with 16 points. Jorja Byington also added 8 points, and Taylor Moore chipped in 7. It was a great team win for the girls. Their next game is Friday, where they will travel to Huron.

Morning Announcements for Wednesday, December 4th

The Boy's bowling team had a rough start to the match but rallied back to cap off the match with a win! Hayden Lewis led the way for the Chargers with a high game of 204! Kaden Mees had a great night in the lanes with a 159-151 for a 310! The Chargers took down the Polar Bears with a total of 2,062-1353.  On the Girl's side, it was a nail-biter all the way to the end, but there's room for improvement. Rory Conrad led the way with scores of 162 and 145 for a total of 307. Leah Gill was second highest for the girls with scores of 145 and 138 for a total of 283. The Polar Bears topped the Chargers with a total of 1534-1446.

January Student of the Month

The Berlin Heights Kiwanis are pleased to announce Rory Conrad is the January Student of the Month at Edison High School.
     
Rory has been chosen for her contributions to Edison High School and the Berlin Heights and Milan communities.  Rory’s activities:  Speech & Debate Club President (state qualifier 2023 and 2024, national qualifier 2024); Student Council Secretary; Drama Club (event planner, drama council, and thespian); National Honor Society; Mock Trial; Writing Club (state qualifier 2024); Spanish Honor Society; Key Club; Interact Club; bowling team captain (2nd Team All-SBC 2023 and 2024 and first-ever 4-year female letterman); cross country (varsity alternate 2023); youth group worship team at The Chapel; DaySpring mission trips to Mexico every summer.
 
Rory will be attending The Ohio State University majoring in Physics.  She then hopes to secure a job at a university or NASA to conduct research and work with particle accelerators.   Rory is the daughter of Charles and Tricia Conrad of Norwalk, Ohio.
