March 13, 2026

Morning Announcements - Friday, March 13, 2026

The cafeteria will be serving a fresh baked pizza slice, or fish sandwich, or Daily Grab & Go, mini Italian salad, sugar cookie, fruit choice and milk for lunch today.

The weather report for today is very windy with a chance of showers and a high of 50.

Today’s trivia question is: What fruit is the only fruit that has seeds on the outside?

It is looking better but we are still in need of donations for the fundraising calendar. The very last date for donations to be handed in will be Tuesday, March 17. Drop them off to the main office or give to Mrs. Bishop or Mr. LaCivita.

Next Tuesday, March 17 is a St. Patrick’s Spirit Day. Let’s participate by wearing the color green, or shamrocks.

Don’t forget about the Penny Wars for the 6th, 7th & 8th graders. It runs through March 18.
Pennies will be added to the total and count as 2 cents each. Nickels and dimes add to the total.
Quarters and one dollar bills subtract. Remember the grade that has the largest amount collected will be rewarded to a make your own sundae event.

The Edison High School is presenting Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat. Performances on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 pm.
The last show is on Sunday at 2:00 pm. Student and Senior Citizen tickets are $6. Tickets for adults are $7.

Congratulations to the following Charger P.R.I.D.E. winners for this week. These students should report to Mr. Smith’s office at this time:
4th Grade - Josie Heater and Jacob Pfeffer
5th Grade - Jessica Seel and Jacob Rosekelly
6th Grade - Mason Willgrube and Hanna Tessaro
7th Grade - Elsy Traut and Jeremiah Walbom
8th Grade - Beckett Freeman and Austin Petznick
We would also like to congratulate this week’s staff Charger P.R.I.D.E. winners - Mrs. Kennedy and Mrs. Trizna!  Thanks for all you do for us.

Hey, what is Penny Wars all about? It’s a fundraiser for Student Council.
What do they do with the money? First it pays for the reward which is a Make your own sundae event, and the rest is what they use for next year’s activities.
Sure, we get a little cup of ice cream?
Not True! You get a bowl of ice cream and have your choice of 5 different toppings to put on the ice cream.
Wow! That is totally so COOOOOL. In order to win, all we have to do is be in the grade with the most money collected.
Right On! Remember that Thursday, March 19 is the last day to drop your coins!

The trivia answer is that strawberries are the only fruit with seeds on the outside.

We would like to close with this quote from cartoonist Ashleigh Brilliant: “Instead of past, present and future, I’d prefer chocolate, vanilla and strawberry.”
